Hello!
I was feeling so tired during the day, no matter how much I slept I never felt rested. I finally brought this up to my doctor. After my blood work came back negative she had me do a sleep study which showed I have moderate sleep apnea. After having some time to think about it, I'm starting to have some questions. First, my sleep study showed that I was snoring like 30 times an hour. My boyfriend has never once heard me snoring even in the morning when he gets up earlier and I keep sleeping. Even my family or friends have never heard me snoring. This may seem like a silly question but can you snore hardly making any noise? It seems like 30 times an hour is a lot for no one to hear. Also, my doctor recommended getting a CPAP, I just ordered a refurbished one since I have high deductibles. The rep should be coming out to my home this week or the next depending when he gets my machine delivered. Is there any questions you think I should ask the rep while I'm with him that you thought of later on that you wish you asked? I don't know much of anything when it comes to CPAP machines.
Thanks in advance!

Don't accept the machine unless it is an AUTO......Either the ResMed S9 or S10 Autoset..OR the Dreamstation Auto.

Re: Newly diagnosed with sleep apnea
There may have been a misunderstanding.... you likely had 30 apneas, not snores. Many people with apnea never snore (stop watching TV ads trying to sell you on snore cures... that's NOT going to help apnea). Now go to the lightbulb at the top of the page and start learning about apnea, what it is and isn't, and what works and doesn't. It's a bit out of date, but still valid, and all the info is good. Ask questions (in this thread) and we'll try to help.

Thanks for the tip about looking at the lightbulb! It can be so overwhelming at first! It was definitely 30 snores per hour though because I remember I had 19 apneas and 128 hypopeneas. The sleep study results gave all kinds of information! It was neat to seeJulie wrote: There may have been a misunderstanding.... you likely had 30 apneas, not snores.
