It comes down to buyer beware, don't be lazy check out what you need, then shop. Do your homework, check out the sellers rep, make sure you know what you are buying. It's not a bargain, if it's not what you need, if it's a package deal make sure the package includes what you want to buy. A good price isn't the only thing you need in getting a bargain. Jim

I bought all my stuff because my old insurance company was crappy. I made the mistake of just trying to go cheap at first. As a result I ended up with a machine that worked great but had no tracking features. I also tried 4 different masks until I found one I could tolerate--the Dreamwear. I have used the same online company that always has good sales and has been great, but cheaper is definitely not always better.

==========

was at a dme checking them out
and a guy came in with a 15 year old machine
no sd card
no compact flash
no usb memory stick

they have a special resmed memory thing they put in and can read his compliance data with after they download it to that custom memory

they couldnt find it
they found another one but it didnt fit
apparently resmed make a lot of different custom to them memory devices to use to dl compliance data in the 2000 era
Why would they waste their time trying to read compliance data from a old machine....... Makes no sense. Jim

who cares that you can't use sleepyhead, it will give you data on the card and probably enough just on the machine to adjust it.
I thought you were poor and couldn't afford to buy your own machine. This is a basic fixed epap asv that will treat PB and CA.
I thought your doctor won't prescribe one and was telling you if you got off the opiates, you won't need an ASV.
You also won't do the sleep studies, to show that you infact could need an asv. Or has that changed?

It is an ASV, it does treat PB and CA, as the latest machines do. It's a basic model without the frills and advanced functions of the later s9 adapt and current 10 asv.

I won't you to get treated, it might improve your cognitive function and be a much more pleasant person. If you behave in the real world as you do here, your life could improve.

The most obvious one is that if you buy out of plan because you have a high deductible, you won't get credit towards the deductible if you then have another major medical expense. Also, some jurisdictions might tax out-of-plan purchases because they might consider out-of-plan purchases not to be medical necessities. Additionally, it might be harder to get your insurance to pay for supplies if the machine was not purchased with insurance. Especially, they might not want to cover the supplies for your particular machine.

For everybody who is getting a second or subsequent CPAP machine. If your old one is still in working order, please keep it as a backup machine. You don't want to miss even one night.
