Learning my new machine, oxygen levels.. Does it read that?

Post by MssDarla » Sat Jul 08, 2017 8:12 pm

I have my new machine,, I even set up sleepyhead software

However havent figure out to set machine to 6-20 its auto set to 4-20

I have learned to lock card before putting into PC, but the time is off and I keep trying to see what I am doing wrong,, but Ill keep trying,,, so 1st I sleep 3.6 hours and had 3 events, but I know the time is wrong because its saying I went to sleep at 7 not true.. I check time in app everything looks right,, IDK Ill keep trying.

and I don have a clue what all the graphs mean, I will in time

my question is about oxygen levels.. Does it read that?

No, a Pulse Ox device is needed for that, cost $ 50 to 100, just another meter, not really required, just one more toy to worry over. Using the software Sleepyhead is much more important. Jim

There are two kinds, one gives you the reading in real time, the other one records, that's the kind you want, if you do want one, also one the works with sleepyhead would be nice, I don't use sleepyhead but others can suggest options. I have the CMS 50E, from Cooper Medical, you can go to their site and see what's out there. Mine is 6 years old and either I am going blind or it's really dim. I probably won't replace it. Print is too small. Jim

Darla you need to raise your min. pressure by at least a couple of notches if not more... closer to 9 than 5. Your symptoms should improve then.

It is such a shame we have to "go grey" to get the "clinician's" manual.
It is inaccurately named--as every papper should possess the manual for their OWN MACHINE.
Just go over to apneaboard.org, and request the manual--it is free.

Missdarla, when you said your oxygen levels went to low during the sleep lab test was this before they
tried you with a cpap ? Sometimes they do a sleep study just by it's self, look at the results such
as how many apnias and oxygen levels. Then if there are a lot of apnias and or low oxygen levels
they make you come in for another sleep study where they connect you to a cpap . Usually once
the cpap is set right the oxygen levels will be ok. If it's still to low even using the cpap then they
will often prescribe oxygen to be used with the cpap.

But in fact that's very rare (to need 02 attached).

Darla, you were given lots of advice on the other threads re posting your results, but a good idea now would be to read the info again given in the links to SH as it tells you clearly how to post reports. It's not difficult, but you do need to follow the steps, one at a time. Forget about oxygen for the moment and concentrate on getting your results here. Unfortunately I think a certain poster has confused you with his obsession re oxygen, etc... and you were warned about that early on. Just stick to the basics and we will help you as much as possible.

===========

no poster here has confused her about oxygen

oxygen and arousals are very important

your erroneous warnings are just you being arrogant and a bully

you might help her with basics or at least others here could do that
your answers are always questionable when not provably wrong

but 20-40% of users still have problems even after the AHI is made low

they need more help and you are not the person to give it to them

And you, who doesn't have his apnea under control, are a better person to help?

The current technology cannot measure blood oxygen via a CPAP hose (which is how it takes its readings). You need to connect a finger sensor, as was already stated.
