almost immediate ramp up to high pressure

Post by csoup50 » Wed Jun 28, 2017 4:28 pm

I have a ResMed AirSense 10 with nasal pillow.. It starts at a pressure of 5 with a 20 minute ramp up. On and off, and much more frequently lately, the
pressure will jump to 17 or 18 within 3-4 minutes. If I shut the machine off and then restart it, it will sometimes operate properly, but more often
than not this phenomenon will reoccur. Last night it happened 4 times. The last time I simply let it go, and tried to sleep. If I do that, the machine stops
recording any further usage time. Has anyone else had this happen, and does anyone have an explanation?

Sounds like it is malfunctioning. How long have you had it? It has a 2 year warranty...needs to go back to whomever you got it from.

I had a similar issue with my 18 month old PR DreamStation Auto BiPAP.

Pugsy gave me the same excellent advice and it was replaced on warranty.

Contact your supplier ASAP.

I had to pay shipping both ways as I am from Canada but problem arose in USA on our vacation.

Sure glad I followed Pugsy's advice.

Yes, it sounds like it's not working property. Since, I don't use the ramp (or want to), I don't know whether my ramp works correctly or not, either.

I would state that the ramp could also be accelerated because of respiratory distress.

In this case, it appears to be the former.
