Two months in--O2 level not good

Post by poodlelady » Tue Jun 27, 2017 3:09 pm

Hi...I was diagnosed 3/22 with 53 AHI...got the machine 4/22 (they move slow in KY)...and have been 100% compliant..."events" are reading below 1, but Dr. set machine to 10 (had been 6-16) and had me do the O2 level overnight at home on the 10. Never heard anything...till yesterday when the nurse called and said they were fighting with insurance to do a titration, (because the pulse oxy machine showed low readings), which BCBS would not approve.
I'm no Dr., but if the apneas are down...I'm thinking there is another problem.???????? Any ideas?
I have the Sleepyhead data, but no idea what it means or how to get it here.

When I was diagnosed with OSA 10 years ago I was given a cpap set to 14 and prescribed
oxygen with it. I was never told exactly why I needed the oxygen with the cpap. I think
it was because I have some lung damage from my many years of smoking so my day time
oxygen saturation isn't all that good to start with .

What about the leak level? Did doc or you check it?

Do you have any other health problems? Do you suspect your lungs are not healthy? Do you have any heart disease?

Leak level is fine...well below what they claim in the adjust level...took me a while to figure out how to make it work...and a mask change...now using Amara View. (How do you post your equipment?)
I am an "old lady" and not very good at computer stuff...
Yes, I have "other issues"...did the sleep study because they were looking for cause of diastolic heart failure...also have type II diabetes, high BP, sinusitis, asthma, and bronchiectasis most of my life...have an appt. with cardiologist 7/5...maybe he will have some ideas. My apnea index last night was ZERO...so cpap has fixed that at least.

How to post your equipment

wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile

Please choose the text option instead of icony option....Icony is small pictures and we can't see easily what you are using.
