F20 vs. F20 for Her

Post by ForMyMom » Tue Jun 20, 2017 3:30 pm

Has anyone seen both the F20 and the F20 for Her? According to the ResMed product guide on their website, the Frame system includes the cushion, frame and elbow. It indicates 3 different p/ns for the F20 (Small, Med, Large) and 2 different p/ns for the For Her (small, Med). There are 5 additional p/s for the Complete Assembly (Frame System + Headgear).

My mom received an F20 complete mask assembly. She was supposed to receive an F20 for Her complete mask assembly.
The DME supplier shipped us a For Her headgear indicating that was the only difference between the F20 and F20 for Her. I emailed them the document I found that shows the above info. They said that the only difference is the little blue or pink accents on the frame so they will not send the complete mask assy in the For Her model.

It is hard for me to believe that ResMed would bother making and stocking different frames where the only difference between the F20 and F20 for Her is little blue or pink accents.
Is the configuration/angles of the two frames really exactly the same?
When I call ResMed and choose patient option, it just says to call the DME supplier.

Very, very frustrated with masks, suppliers, and Medicare today!
Thank you.

You are correct. The F20 For Her frame is more narrow than the regular frame. The cushions are the same. My wife went through an F20 fitting three weeks ago . The For Her frame fit her poorly. She uses the For Her headgear and the regular frame.

DMEs lie. Especially when it means ordering things that don't want to order.

When I first started, I was having trouble with my mask moving around a lot. I kept getting leaks, and I had the headgear pulled so tight that the velcro would be in my hair and sometimes come undone. I learned there was a smaller headgear version, so I asked the DME for it. They said there was no such thing. I then got the order number from Resmed AND a link to the same headgear on ebay. They said they couldn't order it. I called another DME and it arrived in the mail 3 days later. My fitting problems were solved. Instant success.
