No Medical Supervision for my Auto HPAP

I just found this forum. I have been a CPAP/HPAP user for a few years now. I went through quite a process to get my first CPAP machine, I had to go through the home test and 3 sleep labs staying overnight. I have a Philips Respironics now. I had to replace the original unit and I believe they call my new one an auto HPAP.
Since the original set-up and adjustments I have not had any advice or supervision at all. I pay 100% for my supplies because I have the Mirage Quattro full face mask and the insurance I have doesn't pay for any of it.
How do I know if the settings are correct? How do I know everything is still working correctly? Who can look at my statistics off the sd card?

You can look at the statistics off your SD card yourself. Get the software if you don't already have it.

It's fairly easy to learn to evaluate your own therapy once you understand what you are seeing on the software reports.
When in doubt you can post the results here for member input.

Please note that if you use SleepyHead the leak statistic may show large leaks that aren't really happening because SH defaults to a base line leak number for ResMed machines. Respironics doesn't have the same baseline large leak threshold.

SleepyHead is free software and works with 4 different brands of machines and we have many forum members who use it.

While it may look a bit overwhelming at first it really isn't that difficult to manage.

I have one at the top of the Announcements section on the main forum page but my writing/composition skills aren't the best so some people have a problem with my tendency to ramble a bit.

What is the model number of your machine? It should be a 3 digit number on the bottom of the blower...might have DS or REF or DSX in front of the 3 digits.
The ones with DSX have 3 more letters after the 3 digits.

There is some data available on the machine's LCD screen that might be sufficient. Explained in the provider/clinical manual and you have to turn it on so that it can be seen.
Once you know exactly which model machine you can go here and request the manual ...good idea anyway as it has a lot of useful information in it as well as explanations of what you see on the software reports.

I was able to read my SD card!!!

Providers like to perpetuate the notion that using the software/adjusting your own machine requires major smarts.
In reality, it is usually less difficult than middle school homework.
