You won second place, as Monty says, I missed it by that much! Jim

Looks like her hair turned blue, maybe it was lack of O2.

Only took 6 months to get a partial autopsy listing, I guess they were backed up by gang shootings and drug overdoses. Got to have your resources straight! Jim

How do you exactly diagnose a death by sleep apnea before these Hollywood types start pushing it as a publicity excuse for an OD ???

Sleep Apnea is death by 1,000 cuts, Drugs don't take as many cuts, sometimes one will do it. Hollywood types, can afford the very best, many seem to make the worst of decisions. Her heart stopped, that's the number one cause of death. Lack of respration also rates right up there too. Jim

That would not be an all bad thing! It would get a lot of publicity for SDB and its dangers!

I wonder whether she knew she had sleep apnea? Was she ever diagnosed?

The WaPost story about Carrie Fisher at https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to- ... b77a066643 indicates that it is not known whether Carrie Fisher had been officially diagnosed with sleep apnea or not.

The WaPost article also goes into some of the reasons about why sleep apnea is most likely seriously under diagnosed in women in spite of the fact that daytime fatigue and non-restorative sleep are frequent complaints in menopausal and post-menopausal women. It's actually one of the better articles I've seen in the MSM about what sleep apnea is, how it can adversely affect the body, and who is really at risk, as opposed to just perpetuating the stereotype that sleep apnea is primarily a disease of overweight, middle-aged men.

Maybe because male doctors often write off damn near everything as menopause or "female problems".
Sadly, some female physicians fall into the same stupid rut--as did the first doctor I ever FIRED.

Yep, I was told my heart palpitations and night sweats were a common symptom in menopausal women. And oh, did I want an antidepressant with that? Because that must be why I'm tired. Effing idiots.

The bitch I had told me that I just needed to "deal" with extremely painful and heavy periods--
as if nothing could be done! I suffered for years before a PA noticed that I had FIBROIDS--BIG ONES.
The surgery changed my life! From unbearable to pretty darn good!

I suppose Carrie will need to go in for a polysomnogram now, to verify her sleep apnea.

What do you suppose the results could be?

I am guessing AHI=1.
