I am sleeping with my nasal mask on and the hose is rattling, very disturbing to my sleep!
I unhook the mask and water pours out of the hose...what can I do to stop this??
hose is rattling
Re: hose is rattling
This is happening because humidified air is condensing in the hose, and the solution probably has multiple parts:
- make sure your machine is lower than your head, so any condensation runs back to the humidifier chamber instead of towards you.
- turn the heat on your hose up higher, so the air is warm enough to keep the water from condensing
- turn your humidity level down

Re: hose is rattling
We call it "rain out"...unwanted condensation in the hose or mask. Won't hurt you but highly annoying for sure.
You have several options available to try to fix it. See this thread posts number 2 and 3 for explanation and various options.

Easiest I think...get a heated hose if your machine supports a heated hose. I use one year round...warmer in the winter and lower temp in the summer and humidity delivered stays constant (keeps the nasal mucosa happy) year round. It's just easier than trying to fiddle with the humidity levels or hose placement or whatever.
If you don't want to get a heated hose then some sort of hose cozy will often be sufficient. All this explained in the above thread I linked to.

Re: hose is rattling
In addition to what was already suggested, be very careful not to overfill the reservoir.

Re: hose is rattling
For Rainout, if the unit you have has no heated hose option, try a hose cover like SnuggleHose.
