AirTouch™ F20 mask

Post by kempo » Tue Jun 06, 2017 9:38 am

Has anyone tried this mask? Just wondering if you could swap out the cushion in this mask and use it in the AirFit 20 mask.

OK, I see on cpap.com that the cushions can be used. Does anyone use this cushion?

Not yet; but I am thinking of asking for one.
Well, I just called; and they will notify me when it can be ordered.

The AirTouch™ F20 uses the same frame and headgear as the AirFit™ F20, meaning that the cushions between the two versions are interchangeable. Existing users of the F20 can purchase the UltraSoft™ memory foam cushion to try on their existing mask, and users who purchase the AirTouch™ F20 can purchase the silicone AirFit™ F20 cushion to try if desired. The frame is one size and fits all three sizes of F20 cushions.

I use the AirFit, but have not tried the memory foam cushion, I know others have so you should get some feedback on that soon.

The cushion will fit the F20 frame. My wife and I both tried it, and it is very comfortable. I would not recommend the mask if your pressure is over 15 cm H2O. My pressure is 20 cm H2O and I had a very hard time getting the mask to seal. My wife was getting a good seal on her mask at 14 cm H2O. You may have better luck with the mask than I did. One thing to note, the directions for the mask say you cannot wash the mask. The only recommended cleaning is to wipe the cushion with a cleaning wipe. I do not know how long the cushion will last before the foam seal starts to deteriorate. They raised my wife's pressure, so she has stopped using the AirTouch cushion, and we have gone back to the regular F20 cushions.

That is discouraging to hear. Air Touch cushion arrives today. Minimum pressure of 16. Air diffuser on the F20 is already noisy @ pressures of 15 and above. The hope is to get a great seal with the foam Air touch, reduce pressure to under 15 and to be happy ever after...

AirTouch F20 cushion
The cushion is intended for single-patient reuse in both home and hospital/institutional environments and recommended to be replaced monthly.

I would imagine that any soil or cosmetic product left on the face at night
would be absorbed by the foam, shortening its usable life.
(((Time for a new box/pack, whatever, of unscented baby wipes!)))
We will see how much extra time the extended wear fans get.

AirTouch cushion does not work for me. It seems to be more narrow at the bridge than the F20 cushion and it impairs my breathing . I am unable to tape or use a chinstrap comfortably with the AirTouch. Leaks are also an issue. Happy to go back to the F20.

I liked it a lot, as it fit my narrow face. I did not have any leaks!

While I like the AirFit F20, I always had to place my foam wedgies under the bottom strap connections to stop leaks. Was most pleased that the magnetic clips did not object! I did not need to do this with the AirTouch. I did use my homemade liners as well, hoping this would help it last longer.

The only reason I stopped was because I do not get good numbers with a full face mask...so back to a nasal. I am actively working at finding the right settings on my ASV 960 so I can use the AirTouch...as my sinuses do not like a nasal mask no matter how great my numbers!
