One Week, Rest of My Life to Go

Post by TXKajun » Tue Feb 22, 2005 12:00 pm

Wow, I can't believe it. I've been a hosehead (and a faithful one) for 7 nights now! The last 2 nights have also been pretty good, except for only getting about 5 hours sleep last night (we bought a new SUV yesterday in a city about 285 miles away...and got a heck of a deal....and didn't get back home until almost midnight, then up at 5AM for work, so it was my fault, not the APAP.)

My Sweetie is sleeping through the night now and says my sleep is much less restless as well as less noisy. So improvement on several fronts.

I am still tired, but that's probably due to sleep debt. It IS a different tired than before, though. It's a kind of rested tired, if that makes any sense. Even with last night's 5 hours sleep, I'm up, functioning at work and not dozing off. So, folks, again I say, "This therapy works!"

I think I have my APAP set a bit high at the high end.......it's at 18 and woke me all 4 mornings so far, all the way up to 18 (18 will almost blow your brains out your ears!! LOL). My CPAP was set at 8 and 16, so tonight I'm going to adjust the APAP down to 16. Maybe even 14, based on some remarks about less apnea events even at lower pressures. Also, I'm probably going to order the software for my 420E this week to monitor what's going on during sleep, maybe even a humidifier if I can't talk my insurance company into supplying one (which I doubt). I may need help with the software, but based on what I've seen posted, there are some experts available here on the board.

It's great reading all the posts! Excellent board, great knowledgeable folks, friendly to newbies. What more could be asked? (OK, besided not having OSA! LOL)

Have a great day ya'll!

TXKajun,
Sounds like you're on a good track there buddy!

The Silverlining software isn't "too" bad. The software and manual are sort of written in "Fran-glish", but being a Cajun, that's no tracas pour toi, right?

Laissez les bons temps, uh, dormir!

Get your doctor to write the 2 magic words on your prescription--Heated Humidification--That takes the decision right out of the hands of the insurance company. GREAT START!!
