I'm selling my DATEX OHMEDA 3900P PULSE OXIMETER

Post by Gregg » Tue May 08, 2007 4:40 pm

Well, I have had five months of great sleep and no horrible hangovers. I coincides with selling my house. I can't explain it, except maybe for the last few years I've been so stressed that I was having physical problems. I thought it was sleep apnea. But whatever it was, it appears to be gone. All I can say is I hope it doesn't return, and I totally appreciate the help I got from this forum.

So that's the story behind why I'm no longer needing to continue down the path of apnea. And I'm selling my oximeter.

I'm asking what I paid for it. But I managed to obtain the CD and the manual, which are really hard to find.

At any rate, if anyone wants this let me know. I just had it on ebay and it didn't sell the first time around. Here is the listing page.

Here's the listing I just placed- I dropped my price after DSM replied with noble and sage advice.

Gregg to be honest, I am not surprised it didn't sell with that as a starting price.

The unit is a very good one & very up-to-date. Ohmeda make excellent machines & this is one of them.

To get people interested you would have to start it at $200 or so but you then run the very real risk of it not reaching the $550 you want.

I suspect you are not going to get $550 but good luck.

Yeah, I didn't know how to deal with that.

I guess ebay isn't the best place for something that has a questionable market.

The funny part is, when I bought it there was someone else bidding like crazy.

I'm so happy the hangovers are gone I could almost give it away.

But your feedback is helpful. I guess I'll have to review my price.

Thanks!

Gregg,

To help people understand what it can do,

Did you use a serial cable to download the data to a PC at all ?

If yes did you have a way of displaying the downloaded data in line charts ?

If no, how did you check a night's data & what form did this take.

Cheers Doug

Gregg - There are a LOT of similar items on eBay; a lot of it is just 'timing'.
I purchased my Nelcor N-395 from there, and am very happy with it; I had the calibration checked, and it was 'right on'.

You might also add the word 'cpap' into your item description, for those people who are looking for cpap equipment - then they will see it, in addition to those doing a search on 'oximeter'. - just a thought...

also, it didn't 'sound' like you'd had solid experience with it; people want to know it's in good working order, and that you can answer their questions, etc..

and GOOD LUCK!

The serial cable is for downloading the oximeter data to the computer. It has been months since I used it or I could recall more. I forget everything I'm not focused on, in about an hour. Makes life a bit difficult. Like what the name of the software is, and what it displays. If I remember it's sort of a less detailed O2 sat graph along with heartrate.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like dropping the price a bit made the diff. I've got a number of watchers. For what that's worth.

And now I'm off to go start another day. Also for what that's worth.
