Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask question

I am thinking of getting the Ultra Mirage FF mask, but I have a few questions since the only mask I've ever had is the Respironics gel mask.

1) What is the difference between the "small shallow" size & the "small standard" size? I wear a petite in the Respironics mask & it's too big.

2) What is the mask made of? Is it silicone? Has anyone had trouble with this? I had a hard time adjusting to the gel, so not sure how I will do with silicone.

Anyway, any comments or suggestions on this mask would be greatly appreciated! I have my first cold in a year & a half since being on CPAP & feel like I need a FF mask at last.

The difference is the depth of the seal. From what I have read, the shallow is more for flatter faces i.e. oriental etc. I think ResMed has a fitting guide that you can print on your printer... Might check their website http://www.resmed.com

If you can wait another day or two I'll have an honest opinion for you on the difference between the two masks, I am also using the Respaironics Ff. I placed my order a week ago through cpap.com for the Ultra - can't wait

Thanks for the information all...
I did check the Resmed site & even e-mailed them with a question, but they haven't responeded. I also couldn't find any mask information there (as far as differences between shallow vrs. standard fit).
I will wait for your evaluation Clownshow...I'd really like some feedback on this mask before I order it, especially on sizing & fit.

I am currently using the mirage ff mask (3 months), and previously used the ultra mirage mask. I was suprised when I tried on the masks because I wore a shallow ultra mirage mask and it was wonderful, no leaks. But the the full face mask I needed the regular depth. Make sure you try both sizes on if you are allowed to.
