The antihistamines practically eliminated my frequent congestion and respiratory infections.
Cpap with heated humidity eliminated the nasal dryness that I had endured for years.

If you need a FFM, don't let our nasal mask bunch scare you off. Even though I breathe all night through my nose, I prefer a FFM. The newer models of FFMs are quite nice and easy to use.

I hear you.
But for me - it's like having both a knife and a sliver sticking out of your arm.
You don't feel the sliver at all.
And when the knife gets taken out - after some healing - you're happy there's no knife in your arm - and then you start feeling the splinter.
Since the Neuralgia pain subsided - I haven't been suffering. I've been happy.
But now there's these splinters I'm starting to notice.

seriously, ikon, choose whatever mask works for you, though you certainly don't need ME to tell you that. i use a nasal pillow after years of thinking i was a mouth breather. but i'm not about to tell anyone what they can/can't use.

most important thing is you on cpap, whatever it takes.

Okay....my two cents worth which won't even pay the tax on a cup of coffee.

If I were to be in a position to even remotely have a pain like this triggered by any sort of cpap mask/straps/whatever....I would try my darnedest to figure out for sure if I really needed a full face mask in the first place.
Just about any full face mask out there is going to potentially put pressure on that nerve area.

So I would look for a mask that didn't if at all possible...and if that was a nasal mask of some sort then I would evaluate the leak results to see if it was really something that just needed to be addressed or maybe I could let a little bit of leak slide so that I didn't have the risk of triggering that nerve pain. We sometimes have to make compromises and this is sure one that I would be thinking about.

Take a look at the mask I use....no headgear straps at all to put any pressure on anything and it won't blow air anywhere but up the nose.

I don't know if I'm man enough to handle the Bleep.
That's a sentence I never thought I'd write.
Seriously, unless things calm down, I'm a pretty active sleeper. So I think I'd need some straps to start. But the placement and angle of the straps are things I'll be taking into consideration.

Fabric masks (aka Sleepweaver), when worn correctly, can feel like almost nothing next to the face..
This is because inflation of the soft cloth cushion is the only pressure on the face.
Tightening the straps is counter-productive.
I only stopped using the Elan because even the smallest breeze in my eyes was too much.
And that was not really the fault of the mask, but of genes, which gave me a littler nose than most.
With a normal size honker, the eye leaks might be more controllable.
Circadiance has a full face mask, but on my face, it was more an abomination than a cpap mask.
