AirStart 10 CPAP as a backup machine

I am between the rock and the hard place. Because of year change, medical groups and services are being discontinued. I have finally found out that no matter what - I must do a new study as my Sleep center won't work with my insurance! Why my PCP(former) sent me there is beyond understanding but he ...

Yeah, I have talked with the Insurance already. I am not going to pay out of pocket I would do a new titration in Jan. I have decided THAT! I already have my own mask I like! It will be very different but I doubt it will happen.

Re: Changing PCP is a nightmare in the US

I think she just wants to have some more data. I gave her the last sleep study which was 60 days ago. The new PCP and her hospital is markedly better than my old setup. Still this can(could) wait one more year when I own my machine. I am pretty sure the insurance will say the same. But still usually...

Changing PCP is a nightmare in the US

So, I have changed Doctor (PCP) - I have great insurance but the Sleep center I have wants my new doctor's approval. She will sign but also wants me to have a new study. All I care about is the equipment and I like what I have but it is leased. So the Doctor must OK, or NOT? I doubt that they will ...

New mask mystery

I wanted to try something different so I have purchased the Airfit 20 but I never expected the result to be this bad. I had an afternoon nap and it seems that nose breathing is my norm after using Amara View (I think the structure of the mask makes you a nose breather, which is the primary reason I ...

Re: I have called my Sleep lab

Please, please.....peeps [Rodney King voice] can we just please get along? I have called them AGAIN and complained about my leak situation and they will give me (exchange for free) an Amara View mask! So when THAT leaks I can at least read a book or watch TV.... I do agree that the Sleep Labs just w...

Re: Full night but with Ambien

I have been taking Ambien for years and there are no side effects for me. Everyone is different and some do report sleep walking etc while under Ambien but that has no bearing on me. I do not take it every night but when I must I do. Your mileage may wary and you might get hooked but again you might...

Re: CMS50F is crap made in China

There is an oximeter that plugs right into your iPhone, for less ($39). https://www.amazon.com/Kenek-Edge-Pulse-Oximeter-iPhone/dp/B00L788XVW As with most Chinese made electronics the battery is usually crap. Mine lasted one day and after that I could not recharge it. It turned green (light on devic...

CMS50F is crap made in China

As with most Chinese made electronics the battery is usually crap. Mine lasted one day and after that I could not recharge it. It turned green (light on device) but when I plugged it onto the USB it turned orange right away! Further, it after the first day, NEVER recognized the unit (presumably beca...

Re: Still strugling

Not the leaks but just having a mask with air pressure. It takes time getting used to. I am not taking Ambien just get tired and want to sleep, but sometimes putting the mask on chases the sleepiness away. When I wake sometimes I feel rested after 3-4 hours, sometimes I take the mask off half-asleep...

Re: Still strugling

Thanks. I changed it Your leaks are bad but probably not as bad as the statistics are saying in SleepyHead. Let's get that fixed to have a more accurate idea as to large leaks. In SleepyHead go to Preferences/CPAP tab. Over on the right upper corner see where it says red line leak threshold set to 2...
