Re: dry mouth despite full face mask

Here's one abrasion-reducing product, the one I remember was much larger and compressible. https://www.amazon.ca/Pack-Nasal-Pads-CPAP-Mask/dp/B08PW371LM/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?adgrpid=1358997005148202&hvadid=84937799042851&hvbmt=bp&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=125375&hvnetw=a&hvqmt=e&hvtargid=kwd-84938016725316%3Aloc-...

Re: restricted nasal airway - reason for tiredness?

The research paper on nose restriction is at https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29105874/.

It just states the obvious.

But after it there are links that may be more useful.

Re: dry mouth despite full face mask

Was there a product that went between face mask and mouth to reduce abrasion?

Might that help seal, being soft?

Re: Phillips deficient in sizing of Dreamwear cushions

froggy is not making sense. Is s/he suggesting a complete nose job to reduce size of nostrils? My point is I want a larger nostril interface, plain and simple. As for Phillips' huge bureaucracy, with long effort I found an email address, hoping that person will pass my request on to decision makers....

Re: restricted nasal airway - reason for tiredness?

Of course restricted nose passages do not help, how bad depends on amount of restriction. Perhaps doctors can measure. How does breathing feel to you with CPAP on? Internal configuration of nose varies with individual, some have crooked passages. I had to use full face mask because sinus drainage wa...

Re: Sleep deprived newb making progress - FF mask questions

Finishing my sentence about custom making: A company in Europe had a method of custom making face mask by photographing your face with a grid projected onto it, then cutting the hard shell of their design to suit you. (Soft seal of course then slips onto edge of hard shell.) But US FDA insisted they...

New back strap design Dreamwear cushion interface

Phillips are now shipping the interface with a quite different back strap Appears to be an attempt to get strap below occipital hump on back of head, without changing mold for the 'frame' whose tabs it attaches to. Problems: - rigid ends of strap can break off - hook-loop adjustment straps are chint...

Phillips deficient in sizing of Dreamwear cushions

Phillips should be providing an XL cushion. They provide an MW which will help the roughly 10% of the US population who have wide nostrils. I expect as many people have tall nostrils. I have to fiddle every time I put the interface on to get good seal and airflow. (Phillips provides only S, M, MW, L...

I found Phillips' initial communications poor, not clear enough early on what the concern was.

Re: Sleep deprived newb making progress - FF mask questions

Warning:

If taping mouth, make absolutely sure you have a relief valve or large vent in mask/plumbing, so you can breathe when machine quits due failure of power outages.

I've seen cases where provider did not ensure that.

Re: Sleep deprived newb making progress - FF mask questions

In my experience a fundamental problem is design of mask versus shape of your face. Some designers have tried more accommodating masks, especially at the bridge of your nose whose shape varies among individuals. I suggest Fisher & Payel. You can get a full head mask, that seals against chin and fore...

Re: Overcharged for Cpap

Keep in mind that fitting, setup, coaching are included in the prices of machines and masks from providers. (Some people need much fitting/help to get a proper mask for them and learn how to adjust it.) Plus warranty. From Amacrick or other online retailers you are on your own. (I'm not saying that ...

I think you exaggerate, but I won't waste time worrying.

FTR I don't see how relevant your comment was.
