My doctor said that in her opinion the second reading is a more accurate indication of the normal BP, because she has found that people who have elevated BP primarily at the dr office tend to relax once the exam is underway. Still, my BP is on the high side of normal so I still need to exercise more...

I am the same as greyhound. The only reason that I am not on meds for HBP is that I track it on charts my dr gave me (column for date, systolic, diastolic and I made one for pulse since my BP monitor shows that as well). She has told me for the past three years that without the charts she would have...

I will have to go back and look to see if it is multiple days, but I believe it was and there were days that "properly" recorded following the missing day(s). I also seem to recall that what brought it to my attention were "gaps" in the myencore daily reports, where it showed zero hours on cpap, whe...

I have not lost much weight on the scale yet, however, since starting cpap, I have once again converted my nordictrack from a nifty clothes rack to its intended purpose, and started lifting weights again (light only). While the scale is still not really my friend, I have noticed that my belt has got...

Two nights without cpap
So, I go out of town this weekend with my family in NE Pa. I pack the kids, the dog, all kinds of luggage, food, etc. (basically my whole house). I make sure I have distilled water with me because there are no grocery stores near where we are going. I get to the place we are staying, get the machine...

Been on cpap since May 2006, APAP since August 2006. Did not think it was working for me until my 5 year old son told me (unprovoked) that since I began wearing the "elephant nose" I am not "mean" to him in the mornings and in the evenings (I guess I was a bit grumpy). Anyway, that pretty much seale...

Don't be nervous about standing up to a doctor. Tell him/her what you want/ask a lot of questions. Bring a note book and take notes. Force the dr to explain things to you until you understand it. Definitely get a copy of the whole sleep study report (not just the summary), and a copy of the prescrip...

Don't give up yet, the billing codes for the CPAP and the APAP are the same. The DME may need a prescription for the APAP for their records, but it is billed to BCBS under the same code either way. I would talk to the DME and ask them if the Dr precribes the APAP can they fill it. If they say that t...

Central Sleep Apnea question
A co-worker of mine (the guy who talked me into getting a sleep study), has had his second sleep study (the one with the mask). It found that he had central sleep apnea. They apparently put him on a bipap which did not really have any effect on the number of "episodes" he had (reduced from about 120...

I have been on cpap for a little over four months. I noticed in month two and part of 3 that I would wake up anywhere between 3:30 and 4:30 a couple nights a week. If it was earlier I could get back to sleep, but if closer to 4:30 I could not and it was like a self-imposed snooze on the alarm clock ...

How many pages should an encore pro report be?
I am trying to figure out how many pages an encore report should be. While reading another subject here today I saw someones encore reports that had a lot more information than what I get. Mine are only three pages and only really includes the chart that shows the minimum and maximum pressures and t...

I have BCBS federal and I can get a new mask every three months (which includes headgear). I get replacement cushions for the masks monthly (2 per month) and filters monthly as well (the white pollen one, not the black one for my machine, which I think I get every six months), and I think a hose eve...
