Re: Need Help/Advice/Sympathy
Thanks for the advice/support. I have been taking 5 mg of Ambien along with Requip for PLMS. The really weird thing is that this only happens once in a while. Today I had no issues getting up......weird...... Anyway, job functions are not really dictated by specific hours. And after yesterday's a$$ ...

Re: Need Help/Advice/Sympathy
Hey Julie, So how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? I was out the door in 30 minutes...... It was not a case of calling or not. The fact was that I was late....she was pissed because she couldn't get a hold of me. To all others: Yes, I set an alarm clock. Yes, I have phone calls in ...

Re: Another question
Yeah...ummmm....pretty aware of the difference. Both are a possible issue. Still didn't answer my question/provide any insight.

Need Help/Advice/Sympathy
It's been a long, long time since I've posted on the forum..... I've been dealing with OSA for 4 years now. It's been good and bad. Right now facing some bad. I work for a BIG computer company in Central Texas (can ya guess which one?) and so far I've been pretty fortunate with managers understandin...

Puttin' stuff in perspective
I'm not responding to anything in particular. I just wanted to share something with you all that hit home with me about a year ago. I volunteer with the local police department as a crisis counselor. We respond to victims of crimes and their families after something has happened. A year ago, I was r...

I just went through major surgery last week. A family member was not allowed in recovery but I did have my machine with me. As soon as I was rousing from anesthesia and they took the tube out of my throat (ick....was not a pleasant experience being intubated...fortunately they did it after I was "ou...

Women and hysterectomies
Hi all.....I've got a question for women who have had a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with OSA. It's been a week since I had a vaginal hysterectomy. Everything went great except that after surgery while I was in recovery, they had problems getting my blood oxygen levels back up. This kind of su...

Sleeping positions
It's been a while since I've checked out this forum...so I feel like a brief recap is in order. I've been on CPAP therapy for about 3 1/2 years. And I've been almost 100% compliant (I say almost because now and again I'll doze off on the couch unintentionally). I lead a fairly active lifestyle but I...

A really crazy question about travel...
Here goes.... I have a small dog who can travel in the cabin with me on airlines that allow this. My hesitation to do this is the whole "CPAP/TSA grabbing the machine while I'm trying to put my shoes on and walking away with it" issue. Has anyone out there flown with a pet AND a CPAP? I know this is...

Question about medical procedure
I know I'll probably get information from my doctor but I thought I'd poll my fellow cpapers......I'm 99.999999% sure I'm going to be scheduled for a colonoscopy as well as an endoscopy. I know they give a mild sedative during the procedures. Since I'm very sensitive to sedatives (a benadryl tab wil...

Okay....call me weird
I've been really excited about the new Resmed Quattro full face mask. It's just that it's so dad-gum expensive.......and my DME hemmed and hawed about ordering it but offered to give me another Ultra Mirage full face. Well, I got on e-bay just for grins and saw one for sale. I started bidding and wo...

Hi Wistful! I know exactly what you're going through. I've been a migraine sufferer for years and the best thing for me is to make the room as dark and cool as possible, take my meds and go to sleep. However, what I found was that I was waking up with the migraine gone but that nasty headache I alwa...
