Mask leaking tip

Post by meister » Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:46 pm

My sleep tech told me to take a tissue and cut it out to the shape of
the mask seal. Apply a few dots of moisture to the mask edge and tack
the tissue on. Apply the mask to your face, and the tissue should
help prevent the leakage. I have a full-face beard, but all my leaks
are by my eyes. So I use the tissue trick to avoid the dry eye socket
in the morning.

His other trick is to glue some velcro across the very bottom front
of the FF mask. Then use a thin Velco strip which goes across (horizontally)
the mask bottom, and attaches to the straps on each side of the lower
face. This strap tends to pull the mask tight down toward the chin area,
for those who leak in this area.
