Mike, that's interesting. I'm a bit confused, though. VCD, of course, is not theory. And apnea, of course, is not theory. However, is nocturnal VCD as a mechanism of apnea still theory or by now proven? It sounds entirely plausible to me as theory.
Also, by day is VCD capable of obstructing respiration? Perhaps at the very least while awake yet supine?
Very interesting! Thanks!
On Edit: I see from your link that VCD does, indeed, affect respiration! So how many "sleep disordered breathing" etiologies are there among us so called "apnea patients"?

SWS - Unfortunately I think it can mimic an obstructive apnea. My VCD has calmed down greatly after taking care of the reflux so I am hoping that it is no longer an issue... From what my Doc at National Jewish said, they are seeing a lot of patients with reflux causing VCD. On the endoscopy view, you could see the inflamation and swelling from the acid irritation... I will probably be set up for a followup endoscopy in the near future, so I will let you know how well the Enteryx took care of it. (from how I have been feeling I would say it was a success tho)
