Post by scott54 » Mon Feb 14, 2005 7:21 pm

I some information from my sleep study but I don't have any idea what it means.

I have an RDI of 101

Desat 93%

100% upper Muller collapse and 75% lower Muller collapse.

IMP 1 OSA profound 2 ETD

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks,
Scott

I have an RDI of 101
Respiratory Disturbance Index averaging 101 obstructive airway events per hour---a severe RDI number
Desat 93%
Blood oxygen levels at 93 % of normal---a healthy desat level
100% upper Muller collapse and 75% lower Muller collapse.
An endoscopic evaluation of which parts of your airway collapsed as you breathed in with nostrils sealed off. Some doctors think this "Muller manuever" just might be an approximation of your dynamic airway collapse during true apneas during sleep. Your upper airway totally closed off, but your lower airway closed only 75%
IMP 1 OSA profound 2 ETD
Imressions: 1) profound Obstructive Sleep Apnea
2) Eustachian Tube Disorder ??? (if so, ETD as a possible contraindication/precaution regarding positive air pressure complications of the inner ear)
