I have been using the Aura (aka NP) for something approaching a year and a half. While I keep an eye out for what is new out there, I don't expect I will be leaving my Aura anytime soon. For the most part, I don't even feel it - sometime I wake up and wonder where it is and find that it is still rig...

The use tax usually comes into play when people go to a state where there is no sales tax (like Delaware) and buy something big - like a car or a boat - and pay no sale tax at time of the sale. However, the state you live in - say, Maryland - will hit you with the use tax when you go to register the...

I have been using the "Everest Aura Twilight NP Nasal CPAP Interface" (what a dumb name) for a year and a half and wont go back to anything else. Of course, I employ the famous rubber band trick.

If you question is whether you need a prescription to buy prescription drugs on at an internet pharmacy, then the answer is 'yes.' If you are dealing with a site that does not require a prescription you should understand that you may receive medication which may not be what you ordered, may be sugar...

I have suffered from insomnia for more than 20 years. I have read the posts in this thread and I have a few observations: 1. Melatonin. I have tried this and find it ineffective. Nevertheless, I wonder what makes melatonin any more or less acceptable than prescription sleep aids. 2. Prescription Dru...

This story rings so true for me. When I had my first study (something like 7 years ago) at John Hopkins I was told that I absolutely could not take any sleep medicine whatsoever. As a result, I slept less than an hour and was held over for a day study and - again - I did not sleep. A few months late...

Get 'er done. I had it done years ago (it was so bad the doctor had go back in several months later and finish the job). I can breath much, much better . I could never have used xPAP without having my septum straightened.

I am totally unqualified to make any recommendation in this area, but ... it seems to me that it should not matter since the same number of exhalation holes are used on every mask without regard to pressure used. A person can use a swift (or any mask, for that matter) with a pressure of 8 or a press...

Congrats on getting off the Ambien. That is not always easy. It was quite a struggle for me when I finally weaned myself off it. As a life-long insomniac (yes - it is worse than apnea), I have tried melatonin with no significant results, but I do recall some rather vivid dreams.

Possibly you have the wrong mask for you. It often takes some trial and error to find the mask that works for you. Did you try on several masks? If not, see if you can go back to your DME and try on some others.

Good luck!

In the morning I unplug my heated hose, clean my mask and hang the hose (and the mask) over a coat hook on the inside of a closet door. Keeps the cats and everyone else away during the day.[/b]
