This senior is no fool and I know a counterfeit knock-off from an authentic product. I ordered my 6 month mask from a new DME and insisted on the "new patient set up" Nasal-Air II with all the cannulas presented on the Innomed website and was sent a counterfeit product that looked like the real thing. If I never had the real thing, I would not have known I was being sent a cheap counterfeit. WATCH OUT!. The DME said yesterday that this was the only Nasal-Aire he had with all the sizes. I asked him where Nasal-Aire was on the package and he gave me some bull about it being from the same manufacturer. That information does not match the manufacturer on my Nasal-Aire II inserts from last year. I tried the product and it it a cheap joke. I feel so scammed. There should be laws against this. Be careful and watchful.
Of course the DME is making it right and I intend on calling the real manufacturer and spilling the beans about this because the product they tried to pass off on me was no where near the quality, nor would it have been backed up by the Nasal-Aire customer service I have grown to respect for backing up their products. And the two products, although they look alike, are night and day. If this is going on to one company, it's going on to more. I am just so angry. Shame on them.
Warning ! Counterfit product passed off on me, watch out !
You can ask your Dr's office for the perscription and use cpap.com or billmyinsurance.com or if you have medicare, there's another one...cpapforseinors.com

One wonders what other substandard equipment this dme has palmed off on others? Think about it....leaky oxygen tanks, cheap white-box cpaps, ineffective nebulizers......
Certainly this is fraud, and should be reported to the insurance company involved and to the manufacturer as well.

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
ah another testimonial from a patient thrilled with their local brick and mortar DME
Where is Resmed to the rescue when you need them? They were supposed to stop all this...no wait that was just internet stuff sorry
Go to Innomed's "internet" website (created by Al Gore), get their customer number, call Innomed directly, they are the ones making the NasalAire II, if that DME is scamming you with a counterfit off as one of their products, I would think they would want to know about it.
I am sure if you call them and tell them this story they will send you the correct interface and have you send the counterfit back to them.
That way they can go after the scum DME. Take film photographs of the interface he sold you and turn his but into your insurance for fraud.
I once had an outboard motor on a fishing boat, I hit something under water and it broke the bottom skeg off clean with the prop housing. I took it to an authorized dealer to have the lower unit replaced.
I came back a week later and it looked like brand new that is until I went to install the motor support prop when transporting it. There was the half moon groove that my homemade prop had worn into the case, just painted over. Being a certified welder at the time, I asked the owner of the boat shop if he had just welded on a new skeg (he was charging State Farm for a brand new lower unit, all the parts and all the labor to replace it).
Seeing that groove made from my prop, I asked where is the old one? He didn't have it, he said he sent it back to the manufacturer. I get on my cellphone, call State Farm, hey guess what these guys did (my agent is my best friend).
That guys phone rings, it's my buddy on the phone. He says ah huh, ah huh, a huh. He hangs up the phone and says that was your agent. Seems there is a problem, what can we work out?
He says how about a new Tach & Speedometer? How about a brand new Stainless Steel prop as a spare? (He's putting these items in the boat, I'm not responding). I said well if you throw in a lifetime guarantee that the welded on skeg won't break off. He said okay, puts it on the receipt.
Sooo which Autopap do you want?

Like Snoredog said go to the website-send them a brief note about 1-you were given a counterfit interface, and 2 the name of the DME who provided it. Get them to give you a return authorization so you can send it back without any charges to you. If you need a new interface before you return the counterfit one let them know. Or if you want your $$back first let them know. If not just send it back.
Skip the DME if it's a counterfit it won't get sent back to the manufacturer-they will just foist it off on someone else.
