Re: Icon Auto CPAP with Heated Hose - Can you use a regular hose

Thanks. Problem with the heated hose is that I have to turn the air conditioning down to 70 because it makes the bed too hot

Re: Icon Auto CPAP with Heated Hose - Can you use a regular hose

I went to my DME Provider that sold the unit to me and they said you could just detach the heated hose and attach a regular hose no problem.

Icon Auto CPAP with Heated Hose - Can you use a regular hose

I have the F&P Icon Auto machine with a heated hose. Can I just attach a regular hose for the summer and not use the heated hose?

Re: Nose clogs up when laying down, and other times too

My ostium (the tubes that lead out of your sinuses) were extra small for some reason. I just had a balloon sinuplasty done on Friday and between that and the allergy shots hopefully, the problem will get fixed.

Balloon Sinoplasty

My ENT is doing a balloon sinoplasty Friday. Anyone know how long I need to stay away from my APAP machine afterward? Luckily on Thursday my Dentist is getting in my custom sleep apnea night guard so I will be able to use that until I can use the cpap again. I'm a bit concearned that my cpap machine...

Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

I use a hose coupler. I fill mine with warm soapy water when I clean my cpap, couple the ends together, swish the water out, then rinse with the bathtub faucet.

I also empty my water chamber out each day and then run the cpap while I get around in the morning to dry everything out.

Re: Staying asleep / trazadone

I've been on trazodone for 23 years or so. The dosage has varied from 50mg to 200mg per night. No problems taking it with cpap. If I take more than 100mg I seem to get muscle spasms. I also use 0.5mg of xanax at night to help fall asleep. I still wake up during the night though but I think that is m...

Re: Has Treating your Apnea helped morning headaches?

So I tried my cpap again last night. I took 100mg to trazodone and 0.5mg of xanax and was able to get to sleep with it. I went to sleep maybe a bit after 10 and woke up about 3am and was awake for awhile. I took another 0.5mg of xanax and was able to go back to sleep until 9am or so but kept the mas...

Re: Has Treating your Apnea helped morning headaches?

Thanks for the encouragement. I meet with my Dentist today to get measured or a mold taken for the apnea mouth guard and hopefully, I will get some relief from that. My anxiety is just too high and with my nose swelling shut at night whether I use the CPAP or don't use it, I just can't take using my...

Re: Has Treating your Apnea helped morning headaches?

I had been using cpap well from 2013 until September 2016 and I haven't used it much since then. I didn't work in 2016 due to chronic migraine 5 to 7 days per week. I moved to an extended stay hotel and things got better so I moved to a brand new condo at the end of January of 2017. Migraines got be...

Re: Nose clogs up when laying down, and other times too

Please keep us posted if you find a solution. I have the same problem and have tried everything. I do nasal rinse twice per day. I shower before bed, use a new pillowcase at night, run an Austin air 1500sq feet rated air purifier in my room that absorbs voc's and chemical odors, wash sheets and blan...

Also, it might be a good idea to get allergy testing. Skin testing is the best and find a good allergist.

Has Treating your Apnea helped morning headaches?

I wake up every day with a bad headache right between my eyes usually off to one side or the other a bit. Has treated your sleep apnea helped anyone with morning headaches? Thanks so much!
