Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
If you can get a Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet now, get it now. I was reading on CPAP DOT COM's website today that it's going to be about a year before Dreamstation 2s are going to enter the market , due to foam gate, as we're calling it, along with the world wide silicon chip shortage and our shippin...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I'm curious what folks are doing about replacements in this particular window. It's a very unique situation. We're likely a month out from the Air 11. But there could be shortages, bugs, who knows. And the current AirCurve isn't likely to be upgraded right away. So if you don't want to use a Philips...

Re: An introduction
I guess the S9 is pretty similar to the 10 in most ways? As far as the algorithm and things? The basics are similar...algorithm is the same...that didn't change. A couple of minor feature differences but nothing earth shattering or deal breaker/maker. Main thing to remember is if you want to mainta...

Re: An introduction
So I can update things finally, since my System One bit the dust this morning. I found a ResMed S9 on Craigslist and have it all set up now, and I expect insurance will authorize an actual new machine since the old one is dead, but I like the idea of having a backup in case something happens anyway....

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Welllll, mine finally croaked this morning anyway, so I'll be getting a replacement before Philips even gets around to me

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I have a question that may not have a simple answer but figured it's worth a try. So if Philips sends out replacement DS2s to everyone with a Dreamstation or System One, would I be able to take that DS2 to a DME and be honest about things like "I don't really trust Philips at this point, do you have...

Same here, nothing yet.
It's disappointing but not exactly surprising.

Re: get a s10 now or wait for s11?
So far it doesn't seem like 11 is going to be much more than a cosmetic difference. Until they update the algorithm or make every machine bilevel capable or some other thing that would warrant excitement, I'd say go with the cheaper option, unless you've got good insurance.

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
unless I'm missing something.... Not missing anything...my "being proactive" was targeted to people who call up their DME and ask what to do and the DME says "wait until someone contacts you" so they sit back and wait and wait and wait and expecting the DME to do all the work to see if a machine th...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Folks using potentially affected machines....don't expect to be notified very quickly if you are part of the recall. Just the logistics of notifying over 400 million machine users is going to take a lot of time. Don't assume that the powers that be will have your address...be proactive and at least...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Called my DME to ask about next steps, she said I'd get a notice in the mail from Philips if my machine is eligible.
I don't know how to feel about this, if that happens. Presumably they'll try to push a DS2 on me but I'm kind of ResMed or bust right now.

Re: Philips Recalls Everything
omg. I wish I knew if my model was for sure affected.
60 Series REMstar Pro.
It says the System One Q Series is, and the picture it shows looks exactly like mine. But on the label of mine it just says REMstar Pro C-Flex +
hmmmm

Re: Product defect: information from Philips Respironics
Well then.
So this means that as long as I haven't been using weird cleaning devices, my 60 series is fine? I certainly haven't noticed ill effects.
edit: Oh, it says high humidity too. Yeah the midwest is pretty humid. good grief

Re: An introduction
So just a bit of an update, the Auto-Trial titration finished and my machine has been set at a constant 17 for about 2 weeks I learned that I won't be eligible for a new machine until my current one malfunctions in some way, which I suppose doesn't bother me with the new ResMed machines on the cusp ...
