Kind of scared, split sleep study again after almost 20 years on PAP
What do you all think aboout having to do a "Split sleep study" to determin new 'Baselines" after having been on XPAP for almost 20 years? This isn't to determin if I still have apnea (it's assumed I still have it and it hasn't gone anywhere) this is more as an insurance formality, i'm setting up wi...

I'm used to running my heated humidifier at max all the time, since you have the heated hose, try combining the heated hose with a insulated hose cover. I have been using heated hoses with my fleece hose covers for as long as I've had a heated hose 10+ years at least. The two combined give me no hos...

Re: Help with New airsense 11 autoset humidification with heated tube in cold room
I've been told by several DME reps that when I got a heated hose I could throw out my hose covers, like they were a bad thing or something. I've kept mine because I made them all, and love them and they help make my machine a little less "Medical" because they cover up the hose. When it comes to hav...

Re: Recall with sevear apena. Fear of sleeping
Many years ago I had a Respironics model CPAP, but I had to get my own S9 and have never looked back since, I got a AirSense 10 auto when I got a new doctor, the breathing algorithm of the ResMed felt so much better to me, even the older S9. It really became a problem when I had to have a token foll...

Re: Smartwater substitute during covid-19
My thing with tap water, is it's all good so long as it's ok to drink. The only down side, is some "Tap water" can be rather stinky when you put it in a humidifier, but that's not going to hurt you really. I've stayed at a friends place that used city water and it smelled like dirt. Tasted ok, litle...

Re: CPAP use causes major sinus problems
http://www.h2o2.com/files/PeroxyChem_50_SDS.PDF 50% hydrogen peroxide is considered hazardous, to the point were you should only use it out doors, shouldn't breath any mist or vapor or spray, let alone stick a solution with it as an ingredient up your nose... I'm guessing you meant the 3% solution y...

Re: Dent in my head from the straps
If it's not too warn, I usually wear a stocking cap to bed each night, I pull it down in the back to keep the head gear from rubbing into the back of my neck and causing ingrown hairs. Find a comfortable soft cap you can wear to bed and try your mask on, make sure to loosen up your head gear to acco...

I guess asking about turning your CPAP into a modified hooka might involve a longer answer then weather you should put oils in your cpap water. LOL
I'm just being silly with the follow up.

Re: Lifting the hose up
I'm like the person who "Snuggles" up to the hose... Get a hose cover, something fleecy and soft and just make sure the end that goes to your machine is secured so you can't yank the machine off your night stand into the floor if something crazy happens like you have a bad dream or fall out of bed. ...

Re: New user, is machine insurance worth it?
I may be 100% wrong, and based on my assumptions in for a big big surprise if I'm assuming this is true. "This is based on if your covered by insurance and not paying out of pocket." If your being medically treated for a condition, and the device to treat that condition that your insurance payed for...

Re: Resmed Quattro question
Thanks for the baking soda boiling trick. I remembered that was possible but forgot to mention it when talking about spare parts. The quattro was my mask for almost 8 years but, I've since moved onto the AirFit. I've got some old quattro mask seals that are literally amber in color. I'll see if I ca...

Like is it ok to put essential oils in my water chamber to make my CPAP air smell nice?
"I wouldn't do that" if you must, try a cotton ball with a drop or two, placed out side the machine near the air intake.

Re: Resmed Quattro question
one other thing too... if it's something you use for your CPAP, and it's made of some sort of hard plastic, hang on to it, unless you're over run with extras. The only thing that honestly wears out with our supplies is headgear and mask seals... everything else is usually still good even if it gets ...

Re: FAQ thread..work in progress...need some input
Some of the things I've talked about a few times.. or seen. 1. The cleaning issue, how often, how much, why, how? A lot of the responses I've seen hinge on the experience of the responder rather then being more generic and reminding the OP that they need to look around and take some time to see what...

Re: Resmed Quattro question
Back when I used to use the Quattro all the time as my main mask... exactly because of the lack of gaskets around moving parts like the quick disconnect and elbow there was always an issue with air leaking from those places... not so much to compromise therapy in anyway but in a way that would make ...
