snoring while using cpap machine

Post by positiveangel » Fri Apr 21, 2017 7:47 am

I have been using my cpap machine for about a week now, and I record my sleep with a snore recorder

the first week i had no snoring, and i did feel not so tired in the day, but the last 2 nights, i have been snoring not as bad
as before, but still snoring, is this normal, or am i doing something wrong? wondering if mask is too tight ir too loose, or my
chinstrap, has anyone had this problem?, thanks in advance

We need more information.....Please fill in your equipment profile with your machine and mask. Then download Sleepyhead software and show us some detail. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead

Snoring is usually a sign that the airway is still trying to collapse ....meaning the pressure is not yet quite fully optimal.

What machine are you using?
When you have time please add your equipment to your profile like I have mine. It will help us help you better/faster.
wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile

Hopefully you have a model machine that offers full data so you can evaluate your therapy to see just what those snores are doing because the full data machines will flag snoring.

Maybe a tweak of the pressure could resolve the snoring. However, without any specifics we can't know if it is appropriate for you. People who do not have centrals and are using a relative low pressure may benefit from a pressure increase to address the snoring. If using an auto, raising the lower end would be the first thought. But please do give more specifics so you can get targeted input.

thanks, i think i found the area to update my profile and put my machine details in, i am renting this machine for 2 months, so a
bit scared to play around with the dials etc, they told me it was all preset for my prescription, but i am very new at this so sorry if they sound like silly questions

Not asking you to change anything right now...hurts nothing to look at the results.
What machine are you using...machine didn't show up...mask did.

The S9 models have been discontinued and the links are broken....working on trying to fix that problem with broken links but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

You have a full data machine...it will give you a snore graph to see if the snores are real or not.
You may or may not need a pressure adjustment and it's okay if you aren't comfortable changing things right now....use the software and see just what is going on.

We can talk about changing the settings (or getting your supplier or doctor to make the changes) once we see if any changes really need to be made or not.

thank you so much for answering me everyone and Pugsy, i do have an appointment on wednesday, i assume for them to look at how i am going with it, that will be 2 weeks of use, so maybe i should wait and see what they say, and ask them some more questions like how i can look at settings and graphs, because i have no idea lol
