My S9 heater is not working
My S9 heater is not working
I noticed that my water heater attachment on my S9 is not getting warm. Two nights now and no distilled water used. I touch the heater pad and not warm. Set at 70 degrees with the acclimatized hose. Any thoughts as to what is wrong? I will unplug and plug in to see if it will reboot. Has anyone ever had this issue?
Re: My S9 heater is not working
Don't know where you are in the US, but, as the ambient humidity in the room increases, the machine detects the humidity and reduces the amount of water expelled. It may be that the machine felt that the heater was unnecessary with the room humidity where it was.

One test you can run is to set the temperature and humidity level to its maximum then lay down and take a 20 minute nap using those settings. If things aren't warm you may have a problem.

I had the opposite problem with my S9- humidifier was overheating and stayed very hot!

I did turn the preheater on and the plate got warm. But I haven't tried turning it up yet. Don't want to suffocate!

Not sure if you are joking but I turn my humidity up to the max(6) if I am congested and then turn it down to (5) after half an hour.gosman wrote:I did turn the preheater on and the plate got warm. But I haven't tried turning it up yet. Don't want to suffocate!
I would actually like this as a feature.
I would leave it at max but the tub would run dry well before morning.

Gosman,
I'm a Respironics user so not familiar with your machine. I was curious about your comment regarding "no distilled water used" for two days. Just seems odd.
I stopped using heat years ago due to increased nasal congestion. But even with no heat, I use 150cc or so of water each night.
Is your treatment going well otherwise?
