Post by springman946 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 6:56 pm

I have the resmed air curve ASV and I was wondering how are you suppose to clean the rubber gasket thats on the inside of the machine if you remove the water chamber you will see the air output hole to the left of the spot where you hook up your tubing to the back of the machine I posted a picture of it below

why / what do you need to clean off of it ?
Looks clean to me
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

i take mine apart once every month or two and wash it. Just make sure you line up the outlet connector so it will come out of machine.

In the two (+) years I have had my machine, I have looked at it infrequently,
just to see it it is still there; and used a baby wipe maybe once.
I doubt I even needed to do that much, but "some idiot germaphobe on the forum made me do it."
I sincerely believe that in this case, we have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Should I have an organ transplant, I may adjust that attitude.

well the manual with mine said to clean it

the sleep tek who gave me the device said to clean it

another guy i know using one for years told me to clean it

it wont matter until you get sick from it
so the risk effort tradeoff is yours
but for me and my house we will be 'germophobes'
Show us where the manual says to clean it.....
I assume that opening the unit would void the warranty if a problem occurred.

you cant see microbes mold germs etc
Sure you can! Just look in the mirror ... over 90% of the cells that make up our human bodies are non-human cells of thousands of different species of microbes.

I guarantee that you have more molds and germs in your nose than there are on the machine you are trying to clean ... so are you going to bleach out your sinuses to make sure you don't reinfect your machine?

Silly humans! The reason the "health" industry is having such a difficult time with drug-resistant microbes is because of the phobia induced on the ignorant people in order to sell industrial cleaning products.

My sister in law has always been a "clean freak"--her daughter was the only baby in the family to be hospitalized for pneumonia.
My kids played in the dirt all the time, and hardly ever had so much as the sniffles.

To clean it according to the manual is to remove the water tank, wash and rinse it and wipe the exterior with a dry cloth.

Hahahah.

But whether we agree or not this person is asking for help. No need to tell him he is wrong. Its productive to criticize or give YOUR opinions. (Not directed at chunky frog specifically) just thought the quote was funny.

If a person goes around ignorant and no-one points it out to them, they will remain ignorant all their lives, and infect others. Saying and doing nothing is why the world is in the state it is. Jim

Wow ... that sounds like a plot to a cool movie where a pair of witch doctors exorcise the evil germ spirits out of a clean freak's helpless daughter while asleep using a Legacy Remstar CPAP machine.

My tank has been blowing for 10 years ... I noticed the molds all died off after only 3 years of dust, the germs took an extra 2 years.

I had a problem with one resistant strain hanging on, but 3 years ago I stopped using the HH, in two weeks the strain died out and it's been germ free every since, I take it to the CDC every month and have it checked. Jim
