Trying out a AirFit F20 tonight

Post by kempo » Tue Apr 11, 2017 6:29 pm

I've been using a DreamWear nasal mask for the past year and love it but every once in a while I'll have sinus problems. A friend of mine gave me an AirFit F20 size medium and a size large to try out. The sizing chart shows I should wear a medium but my Friend said sometimes you can't go by that. I tried on the medium mask and hooked it up my AirSense 10 Auto. I was very impressed with how light it was and I felt no leakes for the 10 minutes I had it on.

Any advise from anyone who uses this mask would be appreciated. This will be the first night I use it.

Do you need to change the mask setting on your machine?

OK, the first night with the F20 wasn't bad at all. No sore spots, very few leaks, and the mask was the most comfortable full face mask I have ever tried but I'm going to use it for a week before I decided whether I'll purchase one.

Has anyone here went from a nasal mask to the F20 and stayed with it?

How did the F20 work out for you? I am considering it as my first full face mask. I've been using the dreamwearer since I started cpap a year and half ago. Wife says I leak out my mouth, so I am looking into trying a full face. I do get dry mouth occasionally, so I know I leak. Sleepyhead doesn't report high leaks though.

AirFit F20 & more!!

Hello All -

Looks like this is my VERY First Post on this forum - and I do so because Ive owned the AirFit F20 for months now, and have nothing but great stuff to say!

If there are any negative things - Id be sure to address those w others here too! But, overall I consider it my best FF Mask yet!! (Although) I have another one arriving from the Dr. Office TODAY!!!! ---Someone please chime in if they have one of these babies and what they think about it. ..........................

THE MIRAGE QUATTRO ??? Anyone with this bad boy out there ?

I also have a "Simplus" Full Mask, and something else which originally came with it, that I cant recall. (I RECEIVED MY DREAMSTATION W/ HUMIDIFIER FROM VA)
Must admit to you guys - there sure is ALOT to learn about these units and accessories which come with them !!!!! Seems the list could go on forever THEREFORE....

I am willing to take ANY constructive criticism you folks have for this 100% Disabled Marine Corp Veteran with TBI, Severe Cervical Spine Damage, PTSD, SA, and a number of other issues mostly sustained from a MASSIVE IED Blast in Iraq! Unfortunately, they still seem to haunt me , MOSTLY physical , but emotionally as well.
I don't see a way to attach photos here - but perhaps newbies don't get that right? Oh well.

Looking forward to becoming part of this family & learning much more about how to make SA a much easier thing to deal with! Thank you all.

Welcome to the forum. When you have time you might register and get a screen name so we know who we are talking to all the time.
The "guest" moniker gets used often and we never know who it might be.

Also once registered and logged in you can added your equipment to your profile like I have mine. That way we can easily see at a glance what someone is using.
See this.
wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile

Registering can take a little while due to the need for admin to make the final okay. So don't get too concerned if it takes a little bit. Only one person is doing the okaying.

No comment about the full face mask you love...I hate it. That's okay though. All these masks come with very big YMMV stickers on them and one man's treasure is another man's trash. Now if you ever want some thoughts on a nasal pillow mask...I have pretty much tried them all over the years.

Thank you for your service. We have a good many vets here.
