PR System One ASV crazy data

Post by Darth Lady » Tue Apr 04, 2017 7:16 pm

HI! Haven't been here in a long time as things were going as well as they are going to go.

Technical question - all of a sudden, as of January 29 (yes, I don't load data into Sleepyhead so often anymore), my PR System One ASV started writing absolute babble on its card. Things like, I supposedly only use it for a random 2.5 hours a night. It doesn't write accurate pressure data anymore - just an arbitrary min/max combo that is always the same and always is the maximum it can show. Never reports an AHI either.

Does anyone have an idea whether the card is corrupt, or whether the firmware in the unit is blotto, or what? Thanks!

couldn't hurt to reformat the card and see if it starts behaving.

We'll try that. A couple of questions -

-Can we then copy the data from our hard drive back onto the card, and will the ASV then add data sequentially?

-Will Sleepyhead then understand that, or do I risk losing the good data that I have in there?

Thanks!

The easiest thing to try is a new card. Any standard size SD card of modest capacity will work.
If your backup copy is an image of the files on the SD card, then copying them back to the card will likely work.
It's got to be a complete card image or it won't work.

If you erase the SD card the machine will put back onto the newly erased SD card any data that it has stored in its internal memory.
Summary usage data along with some detailed graphs minus the flow rate graph.

There's no way to put the data from your computer back onto the SD card that I know of and I don't know that I would want to.

What I would try is first unplug the machine from the wall outlet and then plug it back in if you haven't done that. This forces the machine to reboot and it's similar to rebooting a computer to clean out the cobwebs that sometimes makes our computers act up but we don't know why.

Do you have another SD card laying around that you could use and set this SD card aside for now?

Do you happen to have Encore available to see if it is also reporting the whacky data? I would also want to confirm with another software that it is the machine and not simply SleepyHead going whacko.

What I would do is use a new or blank card from elsewhere...insert it in the machine (after the reboot) and let it write whatever is in its internal memory to the card. Then I would create a new user profile in Sleepyhead and download the new card data to the new profile and see if the whacky data is still present or not.
Confirm with Encore that the data is whacky in Encore or not.

If the data is still whacky after a reboot and with a new card and in a new user profile and confirmed with Encore...then it's most likely the machine acting up.

We have rebooted. We don't have Encore, but the DME uses it, and as I have a pulmonologist appointment on Thursday, I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask them to get Encore data from the DME. I just hope that between them they can/are willing to make that happen. That should address the who's the wacky party problem.

I'll make a new profile in Sleepyhead. I think I have two in there already, as at one point I made a personal data-free profile when I was posting stuff from it here. So that's another source to look at old data if needed. It's been pretty stable up until this latest space-alien generated (?) stuff. Interestingly, it had been recording more and more central apneas (or what it calls that), despite that it's an ASV. Not an excessive number, but it makes me wonder if the ASV isn't responding as nicely as it should. Or maybe it's just SWJ reflecting my also increasing number of night sweats. Ah, menopause...

We'll see. Hopefully among all of these tactics a cause will be found. Thanks all for the advice.

Step 1) Check the data reported by the machine directly on the screen, the 7 day and 30 day data? does that make sense?
Step 2) Uninstall sleepyhead and delete your user data folder. Maybe download and install the latest version if you don't currently have it.
Step 3) format or purchase a new card for around $5.

Good luck
