Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

I'm only 3 weeks into CPAP use and I do find it difficult to do deep breathing, even with just the pillows. I don't normally breathe through my mouth but I did for meditating. 3 weeks into CPAP is not much. Have you seen an improvement ? No. Not much. It's not the machine though. I don't stay sleep...

Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

I check the clock out of habit. I really need to turn it around. I sleep on my side and if I open my eyes, it's staring me in the face. I feel like I know what time it is before I realize I'm awake, lol. I should have been more clear, I try to meditate. I'm only 3 weeks into CPAP use and I do find i...

Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

I check the clock when I'm cognizant of the fact that I'm awake. Then I meditate with eyes closed until I drop off again. Mostly deep breathing exercises. I think a lot of my insomnia issues are related to SSRI use. It's fairly common with SSRI's, but anything I can do to help alleviate it is worthw...

Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

I will be very interested to follow your post. I'm an insomniac, as well, but not as bad as you, it seems. I can fall asleep easily but can't stay asleep.

Re: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and CPAP, APAP machines

I find myself skipping the posts that are on topic. I actually love this forum for the personalities.
Although the on topic posts that I'm interested in are very helpful too.

Re: Newbie trying to understand the system - masks

Thanks DH. I'm comfortable in the pillows I have now, but as I read through the forum here, I see a trend... Use your machine every night no matter what!!!! Actually, I think it's sound advise and I intend to adhere to it. So I almost feel as if I'm doing myself a disservice by not having backups at...

Newbie trying to understand the system - masks

I'm about 2 weeks into using my machine. I'm using the nasal pillows and They feel fine. I'm starting to feel pretty comfortable with them. I see that a lot of posters have multiple masks, and use a full face sometimes because of congestion. My DME told me they're pretty lenient and that if I was un...

Re: Newbie Intro

My pressure is set to 7. Yes, ramp is set for 20 miutes. I've been using medium size pillows on a P10. Planning on trying the large pillows tonight to see if that helps relieve the blood blisters.

Thanks for the responses.

Re: Newbie Intro

Okay. I got three sizes. I'll put the larges on and see if it helps.
Thanks for the responses.

Can anybody relate to the part about not being able to relax and breathe normally?
I'm hoping that's totally newbie stuff.

Re: Newbie Intro

Lansinoh, Thanks. The Tech at the study had me put some cream on, but didn't say what it was.

So the pillows are actually different sizes? Hard to tell. I thought it might be the hole size in the pillow. Duh.
