but please don't upload a picture with your face and a sizing guide held up to it.... use your own judgment.

Re: Need opinion on mask size
We have been conversing in private messaging.
I have her measurements from the guide and she says she is on the line between small and medium.
What size mask do I send her small or medium?

I'd say medium, corners of mouth may be too close to the cushion with a small, potential leak path.prodigyplace wrote:We have been conversing in private messaging.

Re: Need opinion on mask size
This sizing guide just measures how much the nose projects from the face. The mask sits under the nose and covers the mouth. I believe the part around the mouth is the same size on both.Hannibal 2 wrote:I'd say medium, corners of mouth may be too close to the cushion with a small, potential leak path.prodigyplace wrote:We have been conversing in private messaging.

Re: Need opinion on mask size
She needs to try it on - while lying down, as faces change a lot then. No one can accurately say what size will fit themselves, let alone another person, let alone how things will go with that other person's pillow, or angle of head at 3 a.m., or following an (asleep) little arousal from acid reflux, or during REM sleep. Trial and error yes, definitive size in any given mask - it depends on too many personal things. And there are so many different masks out there - see Cpap.com re that.

Re: Need opinion on mask size
I see the confusion. Let me check. I am confused now.
EDIT
I will PM the OP for clarification.
I think they have an AirFit F10 according to their Profile. He has expressed interest in the Amara View. I do not know where Quattro fits into this.

Someone willing to give away an unneeded Amara View cushion to someone wanting to try a different size cushion in the Amara View.Hannibal 2 wrote:But who are you and where do you fit in to this?

He/she has the large and thinks it is too big.
Obviously if the right on the line with the small and medium.... the large is too big.
Prodigyplace...how about sending both the small and medium cushions to try if you aren't going to need them?
The unneeded cushion could be returned to you once tried and eliminated.
Or if you need one...you keep the one you need and send the other and if it isn't the right size then we try to find another one for the OP here.
FWIW...I was very borderline also between the small and medium on the Amara View...but I got the small and it worked out fine once laying down. I was sweating it a little though.

What I have is a complete Medium mask with headgear & hose and an additional Small mask. I am OK sending just a mask but I thought the complete one could either be sold or offered to another needy user.
After I got the mask, my MD gave me the Small one to try.
The OP has several different threads and their last question to me related to fitting of the Amara View. I have PMed them asking for clarification.
Sorry for adding to the confusion here.

Re: Need opinion on mask size
No problem and only minor confusion because some people didn't know about the other thread.prodigyplace wrote: Sorry for adding to the confusion here.
I thought you had 2 cushions only. Didn't know you were talking about a complete mask and a separate cushion of a different size.
Obviously you paid for some of this stuff via copays or whatever with insurance so you are entitled to recoup some of your losses by selling the complete mask.
Yayoe10 is male according to profile... and I am going to go out on a long skinny limb here but I would suggest taking the medium off the mask frame and sending the medium cushion...and you put the small on the frame and keep that complete mask.
Do like I do when I send stuff out that came from my own personal stash (stuff I paid for) and ask that it be returned to me if it simply won't work so that I can then offer it to someone else or use myself. If it the medium is still too big...he can return it to you and you do with as you please. If it fits and he likes it and will use it...you give it for the cost of postage.
If he needs a small to try...then consider sending the small to him after you get the medium back...or he can just go shopping on EBay for the Small cushion...they are all over EBay.
