Am I the youngest who uses it?

Post by Mitchandola » Wed Mar 08, 2017 2:39 pm

I am 36 and diagnosed with sleep Apnea. I never ever thought I am going to get hooked on to this machine. Is it common for people of my age that get sleep apnea?

I suspect I was born this way;
OK, hatched and metamorphosed.

IDK, but I suspect I needed one since age 10.
Very serious.

I'm 29 and just diagnosed. Not overweight at all either, very active. Suspect I've had it for years, probably my whole adult life.

Been using one since I was 49 and yes over weight and on pain meds. Think the pain meds are more of an issue then anything.

There are a number of children and teenagers who use it.

YES

There are children that need CPAP. Childrens masks are available.

36 is young but not so young. I think it is more common for people your age to deny that sleep apnea is their problem.

I am reasonably certain I had sleep apnea in my teens but no one knew what that was then. So consider yourself lucky that you know at 36 and there is not a cure but relief at least.

Wish I'd a got one as a child.
They should have straightened my crooked toes too, that I had trouble all my life with.

The toes I think would have been up to your parents.

Well, not so sad, now that there is hope for those little darlings to have the long, full lives we want for them.
Apnea is terrible--the treatment, though somewhat unattractive, is a MIRACLE.

We're a three pap family (my ASV, hubby's cpap and my kid's bipap). My daughter started using her bipap the year she graduated from college.
