Resmed P10

Post by Hornnumb2 » Fri Feb 24, 2017 12:00 pm

I just replaced my mask pillow after a year, I have been using a small but the new small seems to leak easier. Maybe its not broke in yet but seeping wakes me up. I have tried a medium but to me it just feels bulkier. Anything I can do to the small one to break it in faster? Any new mask out lately to try? Thanks Michael

You might try using Lanolin on your nose (common brand is Lansinoh). It's sort of sticky and helps with leaks for some. I don't think it will actually help with break-in (if that really occurs), but maybe it'll help until you get adjusted to the new cushion.

The only new mask in the nasal pillow variety is the F & P Brevida and it isn't available in the US just yet.
It is available in Canada now so shouldn't be too long before we can get it here in the US.
I do have one and I am using it right now. It reminds me of the F & P Pilairo (if you ever tried that one) but with a smaller pillow. I rather like it myself...it's not perfect but then no mask ever is. There's a fairly recent thread on it somewhere which I need to bump up with a last post with my thoughts on it..just haven't found the time to go find it and compose my last review.

About the P10 leaking...what about the headgear? I found that when I changed pillows because of leaking that it wasn't the pillow but instead was the headgear being a little too stretched out. Did you change the headgear when you got the new nasal pillow?

yes complete new mask, I am starting to wonder if it hasn't stretched the nostril some?

I just don't see that happening unless someone just crams that thing up their nose and it's ungodly tight.
I have been using a nasal pillow mask since May 2009.
I can still use the same extra small pillow in that model mask as I started out with all those years ago.
My nostrils haven't gotten any bigger at all.
Now I have never crammed those suckers up my nose though...I always have worn them barely touching the outside of my nostril...very loose.
