So on Wednesday, I was on an 11-hour overnight flight from Sao Paulo to Detroit in business class. The outlet was 110v 60hz. I put my machine on airplane mode and turned off the humidifier. After 50 minutes, my machine shut itself down and the green light on the outlet was no longer lit. I unplugged the machine from the outlet and the green light came back on, indicating that there was power to the outlet again. I plugged the machine back in and the light would go out and the machine would not come back on. The only way that I could get the machine to boot up was by disconnecting my tube and only have the base unit connected. As soon as I reconnected the hose, the machine would shut down. Worried that I was going to damage the machine, I packed it back up and slept without it. Any ideas here? Does the Airsense 10 just draw too much power for a 60hz airplane outlet?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Airsense 10 shut down during flight
In general, power on aircraft is 400hz, not 60 or 50 as is the case with the electricity in almost every country on earth. However, you seem to be sure it's 60, so I'll assume that you're correct.
Probably, it's powered by a battery, and you ran the charge down.
Hopefully, the unit is working correctly and was not damaged during the flight.

D.H., Thanks for your reply. Right on the outlet it said 110v 60hz, so I am thinking it is 60 hz! The machine it not damaged and functioned fine last night. I did put a call in to my DME technical desk so we will see what they come back with. I'll post what I find out if is helpful in any way. Partly thinking that they won't have a clue.

It's Highly likely the aircraft outlet has a power sensing circuit that pulls power if more current is drawn than it is designed to handle.
I suspect the Airsense was drawing more current than the aircraft outlet was setup to provide.
