Air dry feature on CPAP machines

Do CPAP manufacturers read these forums?

If so, I'd love a timed air dry feature added. After cleaning out the hose, I'd like to be able to blow dry it before storing it. Currently I have to run the air fit test over and over until it dries, or stick the hose in front of a fan.

Why not just run your CPAP with your normal pressure for a few minutes?

Just turn the auto on-off feature off, right?

Waste of time, electricity and effort. If you feel you MUST clean it, do it in the evening before bedtime so the humidity remaining in the hose is added to the humidity from the HH.........and you'll save needless work.

Not many folks who have used their therapy equipment for any length of time actually "clean" it very often. If you use distilled water, there's no need. Use distilled and keep your filters clean or changed. Otherwise, there's nothing to "clean".

Not a great idea, as moisture in the hose to start with will behave like rainout! I do dry the hose every morning, as keeping bone dry will prevent anything from growing in it. Also, it flushes any germs out of the mask so I don't re-infect myself from one night to the next.

What "germs" and where are they coming from?
They wouldn't be in the water if it's distilled. And, if there were any in there, they can't be carried out of the heated humidifier tank since bacteria and viruses are too large to be carried out with water vapor molecules.
You're breathing far more "germs" in the unfiltered room air when you're NOT using the machine.

THIS!! I have been saying this for a long time! I live where the humidity is very high and my hose will never dry out if I don't blow it dry. So every morning, I set my husband's and my machines to just blow with the humidifier off. I've timed it, peeking under the hose cover, and it takes 20 to 30 minutes until I don't see any water droplets in there. I don't want to leave it wet inside and have mold start growing (like it does on virtually everything in my part of the country). What a pain. A self-dry cycle would be great.

Been using various hoses since 2006 in a fairly humid climate - never cleaned any of them at all and never, ever saw anything growing in one of them. And i haven't had so much as a cold in 40 yrs. Don't you have anything else to do but fuss about this?

Simple, I am inhaling and exhaling through my nasal mask; certainly that's a source of germs! For some patients it's a full face mask, so there's even more germs there.

As Den said....You are inhaling and exhaling YOUR OWN germs. Most of the exhale goes out the vent or your mouth.... Your exhale does not go back into the hose/tube. The force of air keeps it out.The inhale is filtered room air.

Some people do not "do" logic, folks.
I agree with Den and LSAT. COMPLETELY
If you are obsessed with germs, you are more likely to die while compulsively cleaning/disinfecting something,
or being murdered in your sleep by someone who is just that FED UP with your stupid crap.

When I use the humidifier, my masks get stinky within a couple of weeks. When I put on the mask it’s just gross for a few seconds. Without the water, there is no stink. So I rarely use the humidifier. And when I do it’s crusted booger city,
