Equipment profiles are missing

Postby Pugsy on Fri Feb 17, 2017 9:57 am

Last night I got some weird errors when trying to do things here at the forum.
Now this morning the equipment profiles for everyone are absent. This has happened in the past..something goes wrong with the forum software and the equipment profiles go absent..

This has happened before and it may take a few days to get fixed.....

So no sense in telling someone "please fill out your equipment profile" ....they may have already but we just can't see it.

Going to have to ask for specifics on a case by case basis in our responses until they get the profiles fixed.

I called a guy with a master's degree from MIT in computer engineering. He said Johnny should unplug the server for a minute and then plug it back in.

MIT needs to rescind that guy's degree.

I'm guessing this is going to be the norm. No equipment in profile?? Just wondering.

That's what Dogbert says, too, when you have problems with a computer, just reboot it. And Dogbert didn't have to go to MIT to figure that out, just use a computer for a while *smile*.

This isn't the first time the profiles have gone AWOL. In the past it has taken some time to get things sorted out.
I expect it will likely take some time this time.

Mine are still there....... ;)

But, yeah, it's not the first time......or the second........etc.
No biggie. If you add your equipment to your Profile/Signature, it will stay there.

The 250 char limit, a little small, Do that, and you can't add much extra, needs a 500 limit. That would solve the Stupid Iconny Problem, nothing will solve the people not knowing the equiptment they use. Jim No need to Fix it ever, if done as I suggest. K.I.S.S. works best!

Even for the people that can't figure out how to use text, good luck with your job at McDee's, they have to use Iconny, so the people they hire can take orders. Jim

Don't worry you will learn the language, in a couple of more years...
