back/side pain

Post by GoldMedalSleeper » Tue Feb 01, 2005 6:24 am

I've been on CPAP for 2 weeks and been adjusting fairly well. I just started noticing something odd, and I was wondering if anyone had the same symptoms.

I wake up during the early morning hours because I am so uncomfortable. At first I thought that since I'm finally sleeping deeper than I have in years, that maybe it's a sign that I've slept too long (there was no such thing before!) and the bed is making me uncomfortable. After a few days of this, I realize that my back is aching around both of my sides (I am a side sleeper). I thought this was due to the pressure of my weight and now staying in one place most of the night instead of my usual moving around.

Now this morning I realize that I'm getting up and hiccuping and burping a lot. Is the problem I'm having really too much air forced into my lungs that I'm not used to? Does this make any sense? That's kind of what this achy pain feels like my lungs are aching. It goes away maybe within an hour after getting up and moving around.

Does this sound normal to anyone?

Thanks for your help!

I definitely have the pain in my hips & side. I think before I was on CPAP I didn't sleep long enough to have pain, but now that I'm actually sleeping & often remain in the same position all night now, I do have pain. I also have Fibromyalgia which flares up every 6 weeks or so & makes it pretty miserable.
