I have a Philips Respironics Dreamstation with heated humidifier and heated hose. I think that I inadvertently stepped on it (my machine is sitting on the hardwood floor next to my bed) one morning close to the mask (not remembering EXACTLY how this happened). Anyhow, the hose is now slightly deformed and I THINK ever so slightly leaking. If I run water through it to clean it, and create a seal from the faucet to the hose, there's a really minor drip on the outside of the hose (not like a constant stream of water, but maybe a drop a second or something).
This doesn't seem to really affect the performance of the hose, I can still use it and the machine isn't registering large leaks or anything. Just to be safe, I ordered a new one from our sponsor. Should I immediately use it, or just keep it as a backup in case this one gets worse? Note that this machine (and therefore hose) is only about 3 weeks old, and I'm a complete newbie. I'm not sure if this is expected wear and tear or I've destroyed the hose.
Stepping on hose and deforming it?

Do what you like--it doesn' t really matter as long as it works.
You can check the bent hose with an optical thermal sensor to see if it still heats.
I clumsily ripped my first climateline half off the cuff--too sleepy to use my brain, I guess.
You will learn to be careful with your equipment. Some of us have to wreck stuff for it to sink in.

Duct tape or something similar around the area where you spotted the minor drip just to make sure that there isn't some sort of leak..and it doesn't hurt anything to add a bit of insurance.
That's an easy fix but I would worry about the electrical wires inside the hose...try to determine if the heating coils could maybe have been damaged.
Even if the coils were damaged the hose could be delegated to a back up emergency non heated hose by just using some tape around the potentially affected area.
There's something called "vet wrap" that would work well too...but I always fall back to duct tape/....my preference is Gorilla tape..for all sorts of repairs.

Re: Stepping on hose and deforming it?
The System One heated hose has a plastic fitting that connects to the machine and is not watertight. This may be the leak that you're seeing. If the hose is filled with water, the fitting will leak slightly even if the hose is brand new. Try filling the hose with water except for the fittings on the ends. If the leak disappears, don't worry about it.
