REMstar auto mode?

Post by dlby » Tue Jan 31, 2017 9:10 pm

My one night at home sleep study says (mild apnea) so no help from insurance. Friend of mine gave me a gently used rem with humidifier etc.
It is a big help as is. But it is set up for him. No ramp and Im not sure if its on auto but don't think so.
How can Pre set codes be tapped in to?

Gotta know exactly which model...there's only about a half a dozen different Remstar Autos.
Figure out exactly which model and request the manual from here.
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
How do you know what pressure to set it at?
Setting the pressure...that's the easy part. Figuring out what pressure to use is a bit more work.

Holy crap. Not only is that an old dinosaur but it isn't a regular cpap machine at all. It's a high end machine for treating special central apneas and it's not what a person would normally be using for mild or even severe plain obstructive sleep apnea. How did you come about getting that machine?
I think this is the one you need to request from the link above
Respironics BiPAP AVAPS
See if it looks like yours.
It can probably be dumbed down to work like a plain bilevel machine which would work okay for plain OSA but I am not familiar with that old model at all. The newer models I am familiar with but not that old of a machine.

The provider manual should explain how to get into the setup menu.

Maybe not but that's all I had to go on. I call 'em like I see them.
Probably wouldn't hurt to get the model number but if it's one of the old Legacy series of anything...it's still a dinosaur.
At any rate the apneaboard has all those old manuals and he needs to go there and get the one for whatever machine he has.

close isn't good enough, look on the label for a model number, and tell us that.

all cpaps in the same generation look the same, but can be very different.
