Check Annual Credit Report Lately?

I know I should do this but I have lax this past year. I usually request one of the three every four months. So, I haven't done it for about a year and a half. Went online to change the bank my Social Security goes to. There were some online questions linked to credit report services. My answers didn't match their data. Went to http://www.annualcreditreport.com to request a credit report and both times failed with different questions. It appears there are some loans I am not aware of. I have to now make my request by mail. Looks like ID theft has hit home. Take the effort to check yours

I put credit freezes at all the credit agencies. This goes a long way toward thwarting any nefarious activity. With a credit freeze in place, you should get a call from any credit granting entity before they grant credit. It's possible that some place might choose to go through with something without calling, but that would be very much not in their interest (no pun intended).
