Got sick, now AHI is 0.0?

Post by Chris333 » Wed Jan 18, 2017 8:51 pm

Pretty sure I had the flu about 2 weeks ago that is all cleared up now. Right before getting sick I was getting bad red marks on my face so I cut out a mask liner from an old t-shirt. When I got sick there was about 3 nights I didn't use the CPAP (I was coughing all night).

Now I'm back on it using the liners, but now my AHI has been 0.0 for the last 7 days. My average was 3.3. The leak rate has been up a little. I guess leaking through the cloth liner. My AHI is never 0.0. It has been low, but not like this and it seems all the sudden.

Anything I should be worried about?

You might unplug the machine and plug it back after a few minutes. Then see if that makes a difference in the reports tomorrow.
I don't think it is anything to worry about. Maybe you have had great nights or maybe the machine needs rebooting.

With the S9 machines sometimes the machine has been known to repeatedly show AHI 0.0 for several nights in a row and while 0.0 is nice to see some of us know that it just isn't normal for us to have it show 0.0 night after night.

The fix is simple. Just unplug the machine from the electric source and then plug it back in. This will force the machine's software to reboot not unlike what we do with computers when they get stuck. Reboot to clear out the cobwebs.

I have had this happen 2 or 3 times over the years with my S9. I see 0.0 but it's not normal for me to see it night after night. I just reboot and usually the next night my AHI is back to what I normally see.

If you do happen to really be having 0.0 for several nights...doesn't hurt a thing to do the reboot thing anyway.

Doesn't surprise me.
What I do if I see AHI of 0.0 is just do a little waiting to see if it continues or not. I do see legitimate 0.0 from time to time.
If I start seeing the 0.0 lasting past 3 nights in a row then I do the reboot thing just in case it is stuck. I suppose someone could do it sooner but in all honesty I don't look at my data all that often and certainly not daily. It hurts nothing to do the reboot thing anyway.
