Re: Newbie - Suggest CPAP setting adjustments
The machine increases pressure on flow limitations and snores. If you look at her flow limitations graph you can see how that corresponds to the increases. If it was me I would increase her minimum to 7 and maximum to 20 to see if she can prevent the clusters. If you can better control the obstructi...

But once the pressure gets to 7 or above you will get the full 3cm relief.prodigyplace wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 7:59 amIf the machine is set up like your first post, EPR of 3 is no better than 2 because the pressure will not get below 4 and the minimum there was 5.6.

Re: Flow Limitation?
On page 5 of your Clinical Manual it describes Flow Limitations as the beginning of airway collapse. This is what triggers pressure increases along with snores. You can see when your pressure increased you had a little more FL. Hypopnea increases the percentage of collapse to 50% then it becomes an ...

Re: Newby Question
If you increase your minimum to 6 or 7 it will probably clear up some of your events. Like Pugsy said it may or may not help the midday tiredness. But I don't think it will hurt to cut down on the disturbances.

Re: How Long Can I Expect my Machine To Last / Replaced by Insurance ?
If I have one machine that Medicare/insurance paid for, I really don't want to wait until it breaks to begin the reorder process. Who knows how long that might take. If they required loaner machines to be given, maybe, but I don't see that as standard practice. We all know the need for backup machin...

Re: How Long Can I Expect my Machine To Last / Replaced by Insurance ?
Not always easy: Medicare Replacement Guidelines . . . Note: If a DME item reaches its five-year life expectancy, is in good working order and meets the patient’s medical needs, it should not automatically be replaced. -- https://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents/articles/QualifyingmypatientforanewCP...

It looks like a good beginning. Just get some good sleep now without worrying. Remember your brain is adjusting to a new sensation and in time it will learn it has a new best friend. Keep us updated of your progress and if there is something suspect in your data Pugsy or someone else will let you kn...

I don't know about Respironics but I think they only offer one and as to dishwasher safe or not I don't remember. The System One Heated Humidifier User Manual states. Hand washing can be performed daily. Dishwashing can be performed once a week. Wash the parts of the tank in the dishwasher (top she...

Hi... I’m new here and new to cpap therapy, but stumbled across your post, and wanted to reply since no one has mentioned blood glucose issues. The symptoms you describe are consistent with low blood sugar. Have you ever tested your blood glucose levels? You can get a test at the pharmacy that pric...

Re: Newbie - Respironics brick question
I would dare say most of us go into this blind. I know I did but I got lucky with a good machine. I have since bought others on my own from users here. I do think they have taken advantage of you. And yes insurance pays by code so bricks (cheaper machine) makes more profit for the center. Call your ...
