82 Fahrenheit

Post by Jack Burton » Mon Jan 16, 2017 11:35 am

When I got a heated hose the resp tech warned me never to set the temperature below 82 F.
I didn't get a chance to ask why.
Why 82 F?

Some RT's do not know "shirt", but this does not stop them from spewing nonsense.
I have used my cpap when the air conditioner was broken and the bedroom was hotter than 82.
The heated hose simply does not come on. It is AUTOMATIC.
Edit: "BELOW" 82 degrees! That makes even LESS sense!
But, considering the source . . . This is why they make the big bucks! I guess . . .

No reason that I know of. Maybe she was thinking of preventing a cold nose. While the heated hose does have an automatic default, you can also adjust the hose temperature and humidity levels separately. Here is a ResMed guide to the different settings and the humidity delivered. http://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents/ ... sa_eng.pdf

My wife likes the house at 63-64 in the winter. I had significant rain out in the tube. Had to lift up the tube in the middle of the night to let it drain back. I have to keep the tube at 86 to prevent that. Even that wasn't enough. She had to make a cosey for the tube to add a little insulation.
