ASV - Tonight's the night!

Post by Denise_in_MI » Thu Jan 12, 2017 11:08 am

Tonight is the night. I get to finally start therapy. This is a costly journey, especially for ASV therapy.

I just purchased a used S9 VPAP ADAPT SV. I have been waiting for a couple of parts that should be on my porch when I get home.

I'm getting excited and hopeful for a good night of sleep and more energy. I know this may not happen tonight.

I will be downloading the Sleepyhead software when I get home from work.

Here is some information from my study:
Hypopnea: 68/hr
Central Apneas: 10
Central AHI: 1.7/Hr.

Based on my last sleep study, these are the recommendations for setting up my machine:
Auto-SV with MaxP: 25 PSmax:14 PSmin:4 EPAPmax:11 EPAP min:11 Rate: Auto

DX: Complex Sleep Apnea (CPAP induced Central Sleep Apnea)

Several forum members use this type of machine. You might catch the attention of more of them if you include ASV in your title. Good luck with things. Hope you get off to a great start.

from looking at your previous posts ... it seems you have been waiting several years to get a machine.
I used that machine for a while .. looks like reasonable setting to start with.
I wish you well tonight
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

Denise:

Welcome to the ASV club. For some, it goes smoothly, for others, not so much.
Best wishes on your journey. If you haven't gotten the software, please do and plan on tracking your data frequently.
With ASV, the initial settings may be close but probably not optimal for the patient.
ASV's are very different from other CPAP machines. Because of that difference, be very slow to make any changes and make them small and let them settle in for at least a week.
Keep posting on your progress.

The first night was amazing. Now I'm fighting with mask leaks.

I use those headbands that are like tee shirt knit to help keep my mask in place. It works for me.
