Re: hard to breathe. is this a mental thing?

ramp 45 minutes (going from 5.9cm to 6cm) Hey mate - are you sure the 45 min ramp is just from 5.9 to 6? I'm like the newest person in the world to CPAP, but I wouldn't have thought there would be any difference between a 5.9 and a 6 (I can only sent my machine in increments of 0.5, I can't go as l...

Re: Sleep study scared me wide awake

I also empathise - it's a nightmare! When I did my sleep study, I was awake for like four hours or something. I only slept for four hours, 17 minutes - which is probably why the couldn't diagnose OSA for me (although I knew I had it!). Noting how bad I went on the sleep study, I decided not to go ba...

Re: Dreamstation - clicking sound - problem identified & solved

You know, the same thing happened to me one night early days (I'm still in early days, but earlier days!). Thankfully it stopped as quickly as it started - it was very annoying!! At least I now know what was causing it!!! Next thing is to try and get the auto screen dimmer to work as it does with my...

Re: Dream Station Auto CPAP

I'm also loving my DreamMachine - not that I have ever tried anything else!!
The app is pretty useless, but hook it up with SleeyHead software, and it's fab.
I've never tried the heated tube - perhaps I should (although it's well in the 30s where I live!).

Re: First Night with the Dreamstation/Dreamwear - Help?

Also, anyone else with the DreamWear wake up in the middle of the night with their nostrils feeling very sore? I'm attributing this to the adjustment of my pressure settings. Hey dude! I've been using exactly the same set-up for about 10 weeks or so now. I've had the sore nostril thing a few times ...

Re: CPAP vs. UPPP for a young person

Saxatilis - dude, slightly off topic, and not the question you asked (so perhaps I am being the opposite of helpful!) - but... why don't we try to help get CPAP working for you (i.e. tips to fall asleep while scuba diving etc.) - see how that goes for a few months, and then have a think about surger...

Re: There's a sucker born every minute... A somewhat OT venting

Hehehe - yea, I was one of those suckers for long enough sticking plasters to my nose every night, sometimes twice a night.
I think even they manufacture only claims a 50% chance of reducing AHI by 50%... hey ho, at least I got there in the end without spending (I should say wasting) too many $$$!

Re: New to Board - Positive Experience

Welcome Vandamn! Great to hear things are working out second time around! I'm in Aus too - and pretty much a newbie (I'm about 10 weeks in). I did a CPAP trial from Perth and, from the recommendations on the forum, had a machine sent from the US. All going well with it, I do have one minor issue whi...

I always go to sleep on my side, regardless of where I am - I've just been finding myself wake up on my back recently - dunno why.
Anyway, last night's score was 2.5 and I'm feeling good this morning

Thanks man.

I hope you get yours sorted - I figure if I'm going to the bother of scuba-diving every night, I want it to work!!

Re: Thoughts on my higher AHI?

Thanks again Pugsy - yea, I reckon that's probably what it is - nothing in particular, just not quite catching it. As you might know from my other post, my own machine arrived from the US the other morning (it's at home, I still have the trial one with me). When I get home over the weekend, I'll set...

Hi Pugsy - thanks so much! Where's the information that is normally seen on the left side of these reports? The AHI and breakdown along with machine settings and statistics? Here it is - I hide the first time to try and maximise the graphs: http://i.imgur.com/ecEP5q0l.png http://i.imgur.com/dYz1MYil...

Thoughts on my higher AHI?

Hi all! I had another not so great night last night - I dunno what's happening this week. I've gone from average AHIs of less than 2, to more like 5 or 6. DreamMapper gave me a 4.8 last night, with 7 clear (I never really get these), 7 obst, and we hypops. Woke up feeling pretty average. I am travel...

Re: Video of hubby I took - definitely sleep apnea

Hiya - the first link worked for me (on my iPad - I think because I have dropbox installed on my iPad). Anyway - I listened and, if it were me, that would be more than enough of a wake-up call. It's exactly what my wife did for me one night a few weeks ago when I fell asleep without putting my scuba...
