Got my AutoPAP Today

Post by jdschooler » Mon Jan 31, 2005 6:56 pm

Well I have my new & first AutoPAP....They sent me home with a ResMed Auto Spirit...I wanted the RemStar but they didn't have any in so they are ordering me one incase I want to switch. What do you all think?

The tech that set up the machine set it for standard menu though and I would like to get the detailed menu set up...does anyone know how to access and change this?

So for now I am set at 7 minimum and 17 maxium with a 30 min ramp time. Can anyone explain to me the settling time and what is the best settings for it?

I am using the Swift Nasal Pillows by the way with the warm humidified air.

I'll be looking forward to your responses..

Thanx,
Jeff,

rested Gal and Wading will explain it better than the literature or the brief talk the RT gave you. I'm on night 4, night one, ugh, night 2, ugh, night 3 a little better. did get to sleep. It's falling asleep with all this crap on one's head/face/mouth that I find disheartening. But I"m going to stick with it, and just put up with it. I'll believe it when I see it, when I feel improved. Those who throw on any ole thing, go to sleep and jump out of bed on day 2, I think are very fortunate, and probably are in the minority rather than the rest of us who have to struggle. I started wearing the swift straps/n. pillows, unattached for a few moments during the day, just to get used to it. So who cares what I look like, I'm home and trying to help myself. It is not easy. The rosy picture the pulmonary doc gave me, the DME/RT, and the Rt and the sleep techie, FORGET what it is to go thru a night with even less sleep with equipment, noises, lights, drippy nasal pillows, heated humdification that sets off tremendous hot flashes, IT IS NOT EASY. But I keep telling myself a heart attack would be worse.
Hang in there, we're almost same time table, I'm only at night 4.
Good luck, keep us posted, ok?
I'm on the 420E, it's fabulous, little, silent, light wt. etc.
