Re: ADHD and Sleep Apnea

I can really relate to this discussion also. My husband has often said that I have adult ADHD. I most certainly had it when I was a kid. I always remember having sleep problems, insomnia, nightmares, etc. On top of that, most of what my parents tried to do to help me just made things worse. The orth...

Re: Sleep-onset insomnia

Oh and if it wasn't clear, all this awful stuff is happening while I am completely CPAP compliant. Imagine having a terrible night, waking up with your chest hurting, headache, uncomfortable respiratory symptoms, exhausted, with your mask on the whole night and Sleepyhead telling you how wonderfully...

Re: Sleep-onset insomnia

This is what I wrote 2 years ago: I have been reading some research that Dr. Krakow has been doing on xPAP and sleep onset insomnia. I have a strong feeling that what he describes is the REAL reason for my severe sleep onset insomnia. This is because, although with my new sleep routine, it has impro...

Re: Sleep-onset insomnia

Thank-you, cpapian, for your input. YES, I am really happy that my CBT was finally effective for sleep. It is hard to stick to, but I am doing it. Unfortunately I have been through this many times with the medical community. First I go to the ENT, the ENT tells me my throat is ok and I need to see t...

Re: Sleep-onset insomnia

I decided to revive this post because i believe there have been some changes in the thinking about UARS within the forum and the medical community. Please don't bother to read everything above this post because it will only confuse you. I can summarize the issues here: 1. I initially started CPAP th...

Re: Any side-sleepers have CPAP success with MedCline?

I actually bought one of these- Total waste of money for me. It hurt my hips, shoulders and armpits terribly. Tried for 5 nights and was totally unable to get to sleep on my side on it because it was so uncomfortable. I only use it sometimes to nap on my back with my CPAP on. Only good for back slee...

Re: Best tips that you received from this board?

I have not been on the forum for quite awhile, but check in now and then.I happened to come across this thread. I have received tons of tips and great advice from this forum. The best advice I got was about my insomnia problems. I am doing very well and could not have made it without the help I got ...

Re: IMPORTANT, Migraines and REM sleep, please read

The headaches most of us get pre-Cpap are NOT migraines. They are pressure like, but short-lived, usually going away within a couple of hours after awakening. Of course some may have stronger and longer ones than others, but they are basically the result of low 02, high BP (which tends to come down...

Re: My journey: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

I am flaming insomniac - have been all my life. AND I AM DOING MUCH BETTER CONSISTENTLY since reading all about insomnia on this forum and getting some good thoughts and ideas from Robysue and others. Due to some craziness going on in my life now, I have not had much time to post about it recently. ...

Re: Sleep-onset insomnia

Well, now I am doing quite well and am happy to say I have been using the xPAP almost every night. The sleep onset insomnia is down to between 1 and 1 and 1/2 hours most nights, which is fine. I am feeling much more rested these days. Many thanks to Robysue and Pugsy for all the help finding the rea...

Re: OT: Is anyone watching...

Mainstream media is propaganda and conspiracy. Alternative media is much more likely to be truthful. You're really something! So "alternative media" (like Zero Hedge, Breitbart, Prison Planet, Newsmax, The Federalist, National Review and WND, among others) are examples of the "news" that keeps you ...

Re: OT: Is anyone watching...

The electoral vote was not at all slim or even close. Clinton got like 232 and Trump close to 300. Sleepymagee has his facts wrong. Also, Clinton only won the popular vote in California. That is completely irrelevant anyway, since, as was explained above, we do not live in a Democracy, but a Constit...

Re: OT: Is anyone watching...

I think it is pretty obvious who was right about who would win the election. The people who wrongly thought Clinton would win were reading mainstream media and the mainstream pollsters. This was all propaganda by the oligarch owners of these mainstream media organizations to swing the election to Cl...
