Re: Intermittent Noise from Airfit P10

Thanks Pugsy - not using a heated hose, so that may be the next step.

Intermittent Noise from Airfit P10

Hello. Doing fine with the P10 nasal pillows "despite my high pressures" . Leaks are minimal (probably mouth, even with chinstrap) - but much less than with all the FFMs I tried over the years. Comfort is good with large pillows. Recently, though, they've been making this intermittent noise t...

Re: Best Nasal Pillows for high pressure?

OK, reviving my own old post. As predicted, the DME gave me all kinds of crap about pillows and pressure over 14 cm. I simply continued to demand that I try the pillows. He made me initial a statement about "patient request" to cover his ass. I was happy to do so. ;-). Just spent the second night wi...

Re: Best Nasal Pillows for high pressure?

Good info guys - thanks. And the PR argument makes sense to me - just trying to figure out if one brand is better than another for this application.

Then again, if DMEs discourage this combo, I won't get a lot folks using pillows/prongs with high pressure :-(.

Best Nasal Pillows for high pressure?

I know this has been discussed, but I didn't find a lot of folks with pressures over 20 cm using nasal pillows. Has anyone successfully used nasal pillows (mainly I'm thinking about leaks) with pressures above 20 cm? I'm having a rough time keeping my F&P Simplus from leaking at night, and was wonde...

Re: Can Nasal Prongs handle high pressures?

Thank you both - those are useful data points. Good to know that either require some trial WRT sizing.

Can Nasal Prongs handle high pressures?

Sorry to start a new thread, but didn't want this to get lost in my other thread (pillows vs prongs). I require high pressures (EPAP 18, Max IPAP 25, PS 3), and have been having a hard time keeping my Simplus FFM from leaking at these pressures. I also want to get the straps off my neck. So I was lo...

Nasal Prongs vs. Nasal Pillows?

Hi All. Looking at trying out some Nasal Pillow-type masks:

1. What is the difference between Nasal Pillows and Nasal "Prongs"?

https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks/nasal-p ... p-mask.php

2. What are the pros and cons of the two, if known?

Thanks.

Re: Help interpreting waveforms

Pulse OX data looks OK every time I check it - also concerned about arousals. Tried a few foam collars awhile back to lower pressure - the idea makes sense - but didn't seem to change my numbers or lower pressure that dramatically as I recall. Might revisit that, but I think my problem probably has ...

Thanks guys - will try it out. Any gotchas on the data rebuild?

Re: Help interpreting waveforms

OK, lively debate ;-) - I'd like to ask a related question to the original. When I scroll through my wave forms, I notice a phenomenon where the form is flat or nearly so between breaths for less than 10 seconds. This tends to occur in the latter part of my sleep period (which admittedly is not at a...

Re: Help interpreting waveforms

As requested by some of you, here are some shots from months ago on my Airsense 10 CPAP. Although the AHI is not that bad, you see some clusters where the pressure is pinned at 20. Also look at the FL chart - not so good. http://i.imgur.com/wcJt4njl.png http://i.imgur.com/rqvw0kdl.png An attempt at ...

Re: Help interpreting waveforms

Yes I know the leaks are an issue - I've had a hard time finding a FFM that can handle the pressure - the F&P Simplus I have used to work pretty well - now I have leak issues. Nothing changed that I can figure out. New masks/inserts don't help. I use a Gecko pad and still have leak issues around the...

Re: Help interpreting waveforms

Thanks all. PR: So there can be levels of FL that the Aircurve 10 doesn't report, or SH doesn't display (Flow Limit appears to be non-existent in the graph)? Vet: You could have a point - I'll have to pay more attention to wake/sleep for erratic wave forms like these - can't be certain about last ni...

Help interpreting waveforms

I haven't been feeling well lately upon waking up despite very good AHI/RDI numbers since switching to BiPAP in October. I decided to look at the waveforms in some detail, and noticed what look like some "non-normal" waveforms despite zero FL. The first image shows breaths that look like they're fla...
